Likes
- The college campus is beautiful and a very nice place to hang out. The vibe is amazing and people are also good.
- The facilities are appropriate for all the courses. In my course the labs are addons and they are pretty good with all the requirements fulfilled.
Dislikes
- The elections which takes place once a year but creates a lot of mess around the college campus. I personally don't like the campaign letters being spread all over the campus.
- I don't have a lot of dislikes but there is a sewer problem which is temporary but still it can be resolved as it affects the morning mood.
Course Curriculum Overview
My course is one of the flagship courses offered by a few colleges only. It requires a lot of mathematics and logical abilities to study it. I was influenced due to increasing market popularity and my interest in mathematics. The curriculum of the course in well defined and the professors follow the curriculum and sometimes they modify it to make it more easier for students to study. Although the curriculum is good but I think some more practical aspects can be added to meet the market standards. The examinations take place according to the university time table every semester (two times a year). The exams are made according to the syllabus and normally they're not very hard if you study.
Internships Opportunities
There are several opportunities for the internships available. You don't have to find internships on your own because you will get plenty of opportunities. The placement cell sends all the internship opportunities to you through the whatsapp group and you can apply directly from there. The stipends are good but sometimes they depend on the performance of the interns. There internships are available in almost all the fields like HR, finance, marketing etc.
Placement Experience
The placements are good considering it is a non-technical institute and the placement cell is very active. Students from 1st semester can apply for internships which comes on regular basis so there are olenty of opportunities for internships. A lot of my friends are doing internships in big companies (like EY, KPMG etc.) For the placements, the students gets eligible after the fourth semester and all the placements are handled by placement cell. You have to provide your information like contact information, resume and gpa as the basic information for sitting in placements. Tier - 1,2 and 3 companies visit college campus including the big four The highest package offered was around 21 lpa and the average package is around 6 lakhs. For statistics, a lot of alumnis sre doing great. For an instance, one day an alumni visited us and she did her master's from Harvard and was placed at Microsoft. I personally don't want to do jobs in corporate so I am focusing on my music career
Fees and Financial Aid
The best part of getting admission in delhi university is less fees and full experience. The fee structure is simple, you have to pay your annual fees which is less than 20k for almost all the courses. An examination fees is also charged every semester before exams which is different for everyone depending on the courses and no. of exams to be given. For EWS and other reservations, the scholarships are provided where the fees is refunded or a specific amount is paid to you by university. Overall getting my degree is very cheap as compared to other institutions and I think it's really worth it. Also the placements are good as the placement cell is really active and anyone from any course can apply for the internships and jobs. They send regular notifications regarding the opportunities and you can directly apply from there.
Campus Life
Overall experience of my college is great. The students are well diversified as I have friends from almost every part of the country. Also the cultural diversity is a thing you can experience in my college. A lot pf cultural fests takes place. The annual fest of venky is popular and its name is 'Nexus'. This year the fest was a great success and the main artist invited was Mohit Chauhan who performed for the first time after years of taking a break. The vibes during the fest season is unbeatable and the cultural societies contribute to the fests a lot. Apart from the fests the facilities are also good including a newly built library with updated books. Also the labs are really good. The main highlight of my college life is ny muic society. A lot of societies are there and they make the college life better. I've been to almost every college in university during the fest season for competitions and I've also made some good friends from other colleges during this time.
Admission
So the admission process starts from the entrance exam called cuet-ug in which you can apply for all the colleges in delhi university including venky. For my course the eligibility criteria is that you would've studied mathematics in 12th standard and best of two subjects other than maths make your score. The cutoffs are good for general. You can opt it for 650+ out of 800 as a general category student and it is one of the best degrees you can get in this score. The entrance exam is not that tough. It is based on the syllabus of 11th and 12th standard and you can easily prepare for the entrance through books and youtube channels. After giving the exams, the preference list is an important part where you should put colleges in right order to get admission in your dream college.
Faculty
The faculty members are highly qualified professionals in the specific fields. The professors are divided and assigned according to their proficiency in particular subjects. In my class there aren't many students appearing daily so I don't face any problem communucating with the teachers. The faculty-to-student ratio is also decent so there isn't a problem with this. Sometimes the subjects are difficult and maybe the professors are unable to profess information easily but they'll help out with proper learning materials. Almost all the faculty members are helpful and good at communicating with students.
