College is very good ,and provide excellent opportunities for students to perform various club activities and provide placements to good companies with high packages. It also has an excellent campus environment which makes the students feel good.yyh

Dislikes

In even semesters the classes are too short and students usually perform very bad in those semesters

Course Curriculum Overview

Overall course experience till now is very good ,the department of Mechanical engineering has been very wonderful,to learn and doing practicals it has been very intersting and exciting .and hope to complete the course with high cgpa and get good placement opportunities.

Students become eligible for placement at 4th year of the course that is the final year.the placements provided by the college has good packages to good companies.almost 40 percentage of the students gets placed ..

Fees and Financial Aid

There are a number of scholarships available,for reserved students and for students with low family income and fee structure is very moderate ,it is not high and is affordable for most of the students

The campus life in this college has been wonderful and exciting,and there are so many activity clubs in the college that provides good opportunities to students for co curricular activities,and real life projects

Admission

I had written keam entrance examination and qualified for mechanical engineering in this college since my rank was below the cutoff also the reservation benefits are very good ,the overall admission process was systematic and less time consuming

Faculty

Overall faculties are very experienced and is very good in taking lectures,they are available at all times when you need to ask doubts or clarify what you have learnt in the lecture,some faculties take less amount of lectures .

IIIT KOTTAYAM - a Honest review

Placement Experience:

As seniors said the average package is around 10lpa.If you have descent skills and above 8 cgpa you will get this average package. If you upskill yourself with effort which many students do here then you can also get above 15lpa which many seniors got.The highest package was off-campus by an ECE Student in Google despite having cgpa around 6.He had very good skills as a full stack developer.

From 6th semester onwards students are eligible for internship and placement opportunities. Main companies visiting the campus are IBM , TCS ,TATA ELXSI,L&T, Cognizant,Toshiba,Vanenburg,Kalkitech,Sobha,Mrf ,Juspay,Dynolt and many more. 70 % students get placement Highest package is 16 lpa and average is 5 lpa After degree higher studies can be considered.

Placement Experience:

The placements here are quite good, but not great. Because only 50% of students in a class are getting placed. From S7 onwards the placements have been started for our department. But for other departments, from S8 only companies have arrived. For CSE department, many companies are coming which include Cognizant, SOTI, Mitsogo, EY, 6D Technologies, etc. Our senior batch students have placed at many companies in this. But comparing with other senior batches, the placements at our batch is really bad.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The length of course curriculum is very short. It is very difficult for both students and teachers to complete the syllabus in limited time period.The exam timing are also very conjusted and students are facing many difficulties because of it .

IIST - A good campus to live but with high restrictions.

Placement Experience:

The campus placement is there in the campus.A lot of companies visit to the campus. From this year more private companies are visiting because of the breaking of bond with ISRO due to which students are getting good package.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester and internship from 3rd semester. You can apply for internship on your own right from first semester but college gives aid from 3rd semester. The major recruiter is ISRO which offers 40-45 jobs for aerospace engineering. Also other companies like CDac Airbus Boeing and DRDO and HAL visit for recruitment. Nearly 85-90% students get placed while some opt for Higher education and research too. My primary goal is to get into ISRO also I will be preparing for gate examination to complete my IIT dream.
