Honestly, I chose NIT Agartala mainly because it’s one of the prestigious NITs of India, and being in an NIT itself carries good recognition, both for placements and further studies. When I was applying, I had options of a few state government/private engineering colleges. I compared them on different parameters: Reputation & Ranking: NIT Agartala, even though it’s not in the top 5 NITs, is still way ahead of most private colleges in terms of recognition and national ranking. Placements: The placement statistics here are stronger, especially in CSE, ECE, Mechanical etc., compared to private colleges I had applied to where the average packages were lower.
