SPM College for Women offers an absolutely safe and secure atmosphere, making it an ideal environment for academic pursuits and personal growth for every student. Safety measures are implemented, ensuring the well-being of students and faculty.
Another thing that adds to the beauty of SPMC is the greenry that surrounds the moder amenities. College offers good class infra. along with sufficient labs, systems, and other resources.
The faculty at this college exemplifies excellence and dedication in their respective fields, embodying a commitment to student success. In geo dept. the faculty is very supportive and nurturing of student's academic as well as personal growth.

Dislikes

Network issues prevail in the college. There are too many jammers that needs to be removed.
The campus does not have a hostel service till now(although, it is in making). This forces students to stay in overpriced pgs and apartments.
Attendance is a little too strict. Although, it is helpful for being consistent. It needs to be relaxed a bit.

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum for different subject offered across different colleges of Delhi University is the same( meaning wherever I study geography the curriculum will be the same). The course curriculum has always been very intriguing and thoughtfully designed. In geography, at least 1 field trip (out of station) is a mandatory part of the curriculum making the subject even more interesting.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 9385 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee is taken per year and exam fees per semester. The specifics of fee structure is not all that complications, like that of private colleges. Scholarships is only for SC/ST not for general students. Other scholarships and internships are mostly shared by department specific faculties. There is placement cell in the college. Although, it not that active. There is also DU internships for all DU students.

Campus Life

SPMC hosts several inter-department, intra-department and inter-college events annually. Every year college fest, annual day (award ceremony), sport's day and annual cultural fest aka SRIJAN is organized by student council in collaboration with NSS and NCC. Almost all classes in the new building has the facility of projectors for teachers' as well as students' convenience.

Admission

Admission for batch 2021 was online. So, it wasn't that difficult and the process was pretty smooth. The cut off for different subjects vary. Generally the cut offs are not that exceptionally high. 10th & 12th certificates, along with identification cards, etc. are some essential documents that are requested.

Faculty

The teachers at this college are exceptionally qualified, with the majority holding PhDs in their respective fields. They are also quite active in publishing articles and their research work. Moreover, some faculty members are qualified to serve as PhD mentors. The faculty is very supportive and nurturing. Their approach is very inclusive. Along with that, most of the prof. are almost always available for helping and guiding their students.

the curriculum is decided by delhi university, economics wing and is followed by all the colleges of du, although few topic are often irrevelent which teachers tend to skip. i do feel that curriculum is pretty old and they should introduce new topic which are more related to reak=l world and give us real life experience not just bookish knowledge which is irelevent. they should also ask for students input related to their curriculum, teachers sometimes tedn to just do book reading. internal exmas are taken frequently and difficulty is 3 out of 5

Course Curriculum Overview:

It is a good course. I went for it mainly because I am preparing for UPSC CSE (pretty common around here). In that context the course is helpful, and also for those aiming to enter research, academia, museology, archaeology etc. However there are not many placement opportunities and for most it would be better to pursue masters later on. Teaching methods are inclusive, both english and hindi medium students can comfortably study. However both students and faculties have some complaints regarding the curriculum changes under NEP such as the sequence of courses in each sem.

Placements is for 3rd year students. Many good companies visit our campus like bajaj capital, oberoi group. Highest package is around 22 lakhs. We have a lot of internship and placement opportunities come in for students.

There's a very active placement cell in my college. They conduct placement drives, webinars and workshops. Both the jobs and internships are offered. The best package was of 2024 offering 23 Lpa and the average is around 6 Lpa.

Course is rightly designed. Plus the teachers often suggest books that can be read from library regarding course topics. The library is very nice here. I used to study in the library for long hours. Honest review of Pros and Cons of DCAC

Placement Experience:

Campus placement is done in the 3rd year. The highest PPO given is 24,00,000 to auditing and taxation departments. Average package is about ?15,00,000 to ?18,00,000. Companies like Eay, KPMG and more visit our college for placement. Most students under the commerce department get offered internships. Other than this, the placement cell also actively keeps sending internship opportunities for students to enhance their profiles. I am an English honours student l, thus there is no placement option for me directly unless I take up options from the P-Cell. I have already interned at EY India, Gurgaon, as a forensics and risk management specialist( throigh personal referral).My knowledge (attained from DCAC) of research, report and article writing were used adequately.

Generally, after BA no one is placed and even if we apply for a job we don't get a good package. So, students generally go for masters or some other courses through which they can get placements. Talking of college placement and internship cell we don't have very good facilities as very limited companies are there for recruiting students. Many students don't even get the internship. This is a major negative point of college.

SPMCW is Special!!

I applied at colleges such as LSR and Gargi purely because they were also girls colleges and are above ranked than my college. In DU though a proper merit system works and in that merit my score couldn't get admission in those two colleges. I applied in Lucknow university and also gave IPMAT exams. I was selected in Lucknow university for bba but i still opted for this college. In IPMAT too I was selected for the interview round of IIM Rohtak but could not get in. I chose this college as it comes under Delhi University, making it cheaper as well as well reputed.
