Likes

Great weather and Lovely people feels like a holiday package even we can see mountains from our hostel . The famous Dal Lake is just behind the hostel.

Dislikes

There is not enough exposure due to the remote location of the college not many opportunities are provided by the college you have to do everything on your own.

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is the old one followed by most of the government colleges but NEP has introduced several new subjects such as robotics and AI which helps to get proper exposure to what is happening in the world. The exams ar easy to pass.

Placement Experience

placements are average due to recessions but still better as compared to private colleges. but you have to work hard in order to crack a decent placement. and have a CGPA of atleast 7.5 in onder to be in a safe zone to sit for placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

fees is pretty reasonable 96000 per semester and thier are 8 semester . if you are sc/st you dont have to pay any tuition fee. if you are general/obc category and your family income isless than 1 lakh then also you dont have to pay any tuition fees and if your family income is between 1-5 lakh per annum then you have to pay 2/3 of the fees and if your family income is more than 5 lakhs you have pay the full fees.

Campus Life

campus life is good but there are certain restrictions for students as they are not allowed to move out of the campus after 9 PM as the college is in srinagar which is a controversial location There are various clubs in college such as semicolon which is a coding club , Soapbox which is cultural club and many more.

Hostel Facilities

Manasbal hostel which is alloted for first-year students has 6 beds, LAN ports, 4 Almirah, and 4 tables and the facilities are pretty good. mess food is average but hygienic and the menu are prepared by MRs with the consultancy of all the students. no rooms for PG and PHD students.

Hostel Fee: INR 20000 per year

Admission

Admissions here are taken on the basis of your Jee mains score and after the results are announced you have to register for JOSSA counseling then you have to wait for the result and with your rank it will give you the best college.

Faculty

faculty to faculty-student ratio is okay. The faculty are very helpful and good but as in engineering college, faculty doesn't matter you have to study YouTube at the end. And they are going to give you all thier knowledge its upon you how to grab it.

There are in campus placements in our university. Students become eligible for the same from 7th semester. Companies like IBM, AMAZON, WIPRO, INFOSYS, DELOITTE, CGEGG, HONDA, NTPC, ACCENTURE are the top recruiters. The highest package was of 36.5 LPA and the average is 11.5LPA in the year 2023. The placement rate was of 108.38%.

Placement Experience:

Our institute has a placement call, and it helps the students acquire jobs in the industry. Many top companies like Wipro, L and T, and NVIDIA visit our campus, and it provides jobs in every field from Information Tech. to Material-related jobs. Here job opportunities are for every branch. Recently in one day 30-40 students got placed at an average package of 10 LPA. Most of the opportunities are for CSE and IT students as it goes for every institute and some companies like GAIL, and IOCL. BARC gives internship opportunities to chemical branches too. The core branches like Electrical and Mechanical also perform well in the placements. From the 7th semester, placement opportunities are given to the students. Highest package 40 LPA and median package 10 LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Good things is that they offer minor courses for us where we can choose extra courses which we may find interesting and yaa not only that interdepartment projects can also be chosen which is very strange but don't seems relevant.curriculum earlier they were following of iit Delhi and new curriculum is not very exact and relevant because sometimes there are some unnecessary courses and no point of learning that course which forcefully imposed on us to take this course as it comes under institute department courses and are mandatory which is not so good

First apply for jee mains exam and get a rank under 50000 and also minimum 75% marks in 12th exam and you have only three attempt to qualify jee mains exam if you clear the cutoff so you also eligible for jee advance exam for the admission in IIT

Review about Shri mata vaishni devi university

Remarks:

The university is situated in the Trikuta foothills and is 80 km away from the main Jammu city so one has to bear that because everything is not available sometimes. Electricity is 24×7 and the weather is awesome.

Is Nit Srinagar worth it?

I got this college on the basis of councellign held after jee main result before this i got Natinal institue of technology Megalya i left that beacuse of non permanent hostel facility and bad reviews from the seniors and the distance from mine hoemtown sikar(Rajasthan) even many good engineerig colleges was there in mine list but because of mine less marks in jee main and advance i am unable to get them (example : nit silchar, nit Wrangle, nit Trichy etc) but over all mine college was good according to Enviroment conditions and other parameters and the admission process was very smooth just you have to verify your documents ....Read More

As we all know that the B.Tech course is of four years and divided into eight semesters. It is offereed across 8 different specialisations including /cse, /ee, ECE, MEC, META, CIVIL, IT /cHE . The course admission is done on the basis of candidate's performance in JEE Main followed by JOSSA counselling/CSAB counselling. The allotment is donw on the basis of merit score in Je/e Main. The Eligibility Criteria is that the candiddate must qualify JEE Main and score above 75% marks in 12th. A score of 96 - 97 p;ercentile is enough for an OB/C or General student and 93% -90 perccentile for SC / ST students. NIT srinagar : A place signifying Majesty of nature and a ground for academic growth
