Remarks

Good infrastructure Faculty, affordable fee structure placement could have been improved.

Entrance Preview

SLIET Entrance Test (SET-III) for entrance to degree programme.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum is quite different as compare to State university syllbus. Even i was a Diploma student as per syllabus,I had to study Mathematics in three semesters,Physics and Chemistry in two semesters,An elective subject from Mechanical Engineering as well. I mean a complete development of a student in order to make him all rounder.

Internships Opportunities

Well frankly speaking it was not that much good. Only HCL Technologies came to offer training but that was also paid. They offer only discounted courses.

Placement Experience

3

Well overall placement and job opportunities are reasonable. Moreover placement rate varies with various branches of Engineering. I will talk about CSE only. At our time we had a single company for campus placement i.e. TCS. We were expecting some more companies but that did not happen. But after our batch i came to know from my juniors that they had a good placement session having 4-5 companies for CSE only.

College Events

4

We were having an annual Techfest in Feb-Mar every year. I will give 4.5/5 rating to this Techfest. It was an annual techno cultural festival having three day duration comprising of number of technical, literary as well as cultural events as well. What i like the most in the Techfest is each and every arrangement is made by students only. A number of committees are made by the students for the students and of the students. Interview sessions were being conducted in order to select various positions for managing the Techfest. The main attraction of the whole event is Star Night always.

Fees and Financial Aid

Full tution fee waiver scheme for first three toppers of the SLIET entrance test for economically weak students,One girl student as well as one student from disabled category I had never availed Loans. But Central Bank of India branch was available in our campus. One of my friends took loan from there.

Campus Life

4

Gender Ratio is quite reasonable. I mean girls were less in Mechanical and the same is substituted in CSE,Food technology and chemical technology hostel nights were used to be conduct.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Quite good, single seater for pre final and final year almost negligible rent. Almost 600 per semester bathroom and toilet facility is good. Cleaning could have been better no electricity problem. Almost 24*7 power facility mess food is neither good nor ba

Alumni/Alumna

We dont have any alumni network as such. We do have a group on facebook. But that hardly works. I mean there should be proper alumni network so that they can have a connection with each other.

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
