Course Curriculum Overview
When I started there was lot of confusion about our syllabus due to NEP, however it was still taught well by faculty. Most of the syllabus is practically applicable in future work. We have 2 CIAs and 2 exams per semester which totals to our grade and they're all pretty hard and helps to learn the syllabus thoroughly. Cia 1 is during the 3rd week after sem starts, Cia 2 is Mid semester examination, Cia 3 is 2 weeks after mid sem and Finally we have end semester exam. Mid sem lasts 1 week, whereas end sem can last up to 2 weeks (lots of holidays) Cia 1 and 3, you're usually given 1-2 weeks time for submission.
Internships Opportunities
Our college has given internship opportunities at IIT and IIM with no stipend but experience certificates as it is done during college time. You are required to complete 1-2 months summer internship during sem breaks which is completely our choice.
Placement Experience
You're eligible for placements from 5th sem if your part of a 6 sem course. I'm in the first batch of students at YPR Campus so we will be the first batch to get placed hence no companies have visited yet. However companies like ABB, goldmensachs, Cognizant, Wipro, etc. come to Christ's for placements. Highest package I've heard of is 32 lakhs pa, and lowest was 5l pa. College claims 100% placement (if the students is qualified) I'll sit for placements during 6th sem (next year).
Fees and Financial Aid
Fee is considered to be high. For BA Psychology English I pay 70000, however that is with 25000 scholarship given to Karnataka students my other classmates pay 95000. There are reservations available, Catholic quota etc. The college has merit scholarship for toppers as well as financial assistance provided with proof of income, etc. We have to do compulsory summer internships during sem breaks (1 month) it's our choice where we work. The college itself provides internships and foreign exchange programs. Placements at Christ are very good.
Campus Life
There's 1or 2 fests literally every month. Completely run by students in SWO and other clubs within departments. Library is huge with access to literally everything you'll need. All facilities and tech is top notch so are the sports and extra curricular activities.
Admission
The process was very easy. There's an entrance exam (CUET) done by college no specific cut off was mentioned, and an entrance interview. Mine was online due to the pandemic. For my course eligibility was that u studied psychology in 11th/12th and cut off was 50%. Application form can be found on the college website or u can come take it in person as well. It takes 3-4 weeks to complete everything.
Faculty
Yeshwanthpur faculty members in the psychology department were not good since all of them were new teachers with minimal experience, however other teachers that came in from different Campus are very very qualified. Every teacher is approachable and are great mentors, and they're available for one-on-one sessions whenever required. I personally am constantly at the teacher's cabin for the smallest doubts but they don't mind.
