Course Curriculum Overview

4

IIIT provide very technical courses along with its proper work load , with descent to good statistics of my branch campus palcement motivates me to choose this coure which hold every core subject regarding computer science you must be needed for your career advancement and even for your higher studies such as Gate examination proper projects are issued to individual or group for better understanding of that subject and able to solve real world applications . it can get improve more in its laboratory field and can inlcude or motivate more students to aim for writinga journel papers under propessor on aiming higher studies. frequency and timing is very descent in IIIT with one midsem in mid of semester and Endsemester at end with proper two quiz , sometime it become very hectic and hard as per difficulty level and student struggles there if the prpeparation is not good.

Internships Opportunities

3

Companies like DELL , ORACLE , NEOPHYTE , ZSCALAR and other provide intership ranging from 10k-50k per month under role of software developer or SRE . Not much company visit to offer internship. Projects over their websites or particulary update some part or facility they provide to customer , student under intern able to learn probelm solving in real life skill , and gain lot experience with certification and walk out with PPO like 10/15/18 LPA

Placement Experience

3

placement drive of college is pretty descent , students are able to crack higher package (27LPA) palcement through college with average package of 8.81 LPA , with comapnies such as Media.net , Dell , Oracle , Deloitte ,Infosys , Mahindra , Veritas , TCS , CGI , informatica and others with most student fall under 10-15 LPA and 70% student palced in 20-24 batch . and Most students even opt for higher studies after getting degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

averagely tuition fees is 90,000 which hardly increase to 95,000 by the end of your graduation overall including hostel accomodation and other fees it cost around 1.25L per semester i.e 2.5L per year (excluding mess charges) . for student falling under general category and abovel BPL there has no schoalrship scene and student below BPL have scholarship that also which has state quota No such scene of campus employment which include stipends , students are included as placement coordinator and other post which help them in experience set improving their CV

Campus Life

3

Annual fest is conducted every year i.e Advita which includes technical festivals and other pro nights . along with this there are many socities which include robotics , entrepreneurship , cyber security and other coding fields conduct monthly technical and fun events in college . sports are well celebrated in IIIT BBSR with anual inter and intra collage tournament well managed . library consist of well range of books on courses and other non core books with many options regarding magzines and journels . well descent wifi speed no AC in classrooms well built auditorium and descent infrastructure provided within classroom

Hostel Facilities

4

there are two options for hostel accommodation 1) 3 sharing Room which cost around 12k per semester and 2) single sharing which cost 30k per semester . One get mess food option which is easily affordable but quality is not that good and one caffetaria well maintained and air conditioned . Regestration process for hostel is very simple it included during admission period only , one can opt out from hostel accommdation as per thier choice . As college is situated in outskirt of Bhubaneswar therefor locality is not that safe to rent or there is No scene of PG nearby , therefor hostel accommodation is better option

Admission

Admission can be undertaken through JEE Mains with cutoff rank 35k AIR according to this rank counselling is conducted through jossa and there is separate counselling for state student with 50% reservation so if one belong to oddisa can avail this reservation . you can easily find application for jee examination on NTA sites which conduct two times in a year around January and April and then go through Counselling procedure through jossa site

Faculty

3.5

faculty to student ratio is very descent one will never face issue in theis aspect , faculty througly goes through each and every students statistically and put light on everyone , It improved my interaction skill and problem asking issues . Most faculty reffers standard book and believe in solving problems and head forward with it , with properly providing notes and other resources . one can easily approach and interact with faculty in classhour as well as during other time , teacher put no objections in such approach so its very easy and comfortable to interact with any faculty they always remain ready to attend you

Siksha 'O' Anusandhan University - [SOA], Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Jan 9, 2026(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. Relevance & Comprehensiveness (Rating: 7/10) The course curriculum at SOA is updated frequently compared to state government colleges. Why I chose this: I was attracted to the fact that the syllabus includes modern electives like Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Data Analytics starting from the 3rd year itself, rather than waiting for the final semester. Real-world Prep: The curriculum is designed largely to crack placement interviews. There is a heavy focus on Aptitude and Core Coding subjects (DS/Algo) which helps in getting a job. However, for deep research or R&D roles, the theoretical depth is sometimes lacking. 2. Areas for Improvement Teaching Methods: A major issue is the reliance on PowerPoint Presentations (PPTs). Many faculty members just read off the slides. I would prefer more "Whiteboard Teaching" for mathematical and logic-based subjects. Lab Records: We spend hours handwriting practical records/files which are just copied from the manual. This is a waste of time. This time should be used for live coding projects or hackathons. Outdated Subjects: First-year students (even in CS/IT) are forced to learn heavy mechanical/civil concepts. While basics are good, the depth of these non-core subjects should be reduced. 3. Exam System & Difficulty Frequency: It is quite hectic. We have 2 semesters a year. Each semester has 2 Internal Assessments (Quizzes/Mid-sems) and 1 End-Semester Exam. Basically, you have an exam every 1.5 to 2 months. Difficulty: The exams are Easy to Moderate. It is not very difficult to pass. If you study the "Class Notes" and "Previous Year Questions" for 3-4 days before the exam, you can easily score an 8.0 SGPA. The checking is lenient for passing, but strict if you are aiming for a 9.5+ SGPA.

I actually have a very little idea about placements of our uni few seniors says there is not a single company visiting, while few were discussing the highest placement which was something like 20lpa or something,i think companies do visit our campus it may not be much but i have definetly seen one or two companies visiting. I plan to do MBA after my Btech so i am not that serious about whether i am getting placed or not.

Gandhi Engineering College (GEC Autonomous), Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Dec 22, 2025(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I mainly chose this course because the college is Autonomous, which allows them to update the syllabus faster than standard university colleges; seeing subjects like Python and Data Science in the early semesters really influenced my decision. The curriculum is decent for getting placed in service-based companies like TCS or Wipro since they focus heavily on the basics and aptitude, though for high-end product roles or research, you have to put in extra effort yourself. I definitely think they need to reduce the theory load and focus more on practical coding because sometimes it feels like we are just writing assignments instead of building things. Also, the junior faculty rely too much on reading from slides, which really needs to change to make classes more engaging. As for exams, it feels like we are always writing them since we have two internals and one end-semester exam per term. They are moderately difficult and the checking is strict, so you can't slack off, but the tight schedule can get quite exhausting.
