Likes
- Professors are supportive and college location provides an easy access for other oppotunities in the city .their are various cofing centers nearby
- It is not as strict as other AKTU colleges
- You may find good peers and coding societies like NCS , MMIL and GDSC
Dislikes
- Infrastructure is third class, their is no AC in any of the classes and bearing the heat in summer becomes very difficult
- Their is no sem break and their are very less holidays , you will be grilled in semester cycles one after another
- As the seats of management ( non JEE students) are increasing , peers level is degrading day by day
Course Curriculum Overview
First year of engineering curriculum is common for all branches, subjects are fundamentals of each of the engineering branch ( apart from c programing and electronics ) others are irrelevant for a cs / it student . In second year , subjects like COA, OS, JAVA and OOPS, DSA are relevant and must be studied carefully .other subjects like TAFL, DSTL are for those studying for GATE exams apart from that their are labs for computer organization, operaring systems ,and web design. Web design curriculum is very basic frontend (html, css and basic javascript) which is just an overview and rest you have to learn by your own.
Placement Experience
Campus placements are not too good this year as comparision with the previous years but keeping the recession in mind as much people are losing thier jobs. college is still able to provide campus placements with avgerage package of 6lpa is quite decent.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarship opportunities are very limited and the crieria is decided by AKTU. Fees is quite less in comparision to other engineering colleges which is around 1.20 lakh per year and around 5 lakhs for the entire course ( btech IT)
Campus Life
Library is open only till 8pm, decent and provides variety of books and journals Their are nearly negligible extra curricular activities offered on campus. College provides a summer fest ZEALICON which maybe as compared to fest of other colleges
Admission
Admission is based on jee score . I scored around 91 percentile (general ) and got a seat in IT department . Counselling is done through UPSEE not by JOSAA Other way of admission is through management seats for which they charge much of the extra money
Faculty
For each class of around 60 students, around 3 mentors are assigned(20 students under each mentor). You can solve your queries with them and they will be guiding you really welll. Teachers are well qualified and easily approachable.

Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College - [AKGEC] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
AKGEC is more strict in their attendance criteria although the placement stat is nearly same in both the colleges , IT department in Jss is more relaxed and student friendly .
