What Students Say
Likes
- Canteen food is alright, can be considered good with fair prices.
- Campus environment is amazing. It is motivating and bubbly.
- Some faculties are very good in their department and can give you great insights. Ofcourse, most of them are just alright, theek-theek type.
Dislikes
- The attendence is very important. Less than 30% can easily get you a debarg in your exams.
- You have to pay updated fees from ipu University after College starts. It doesn't matter how early or late you take admission in the college.
- The classes many times feels like of school times. The faculty surely acts like that. But teachers actually helps a lot (that is if You ask them).
Course Curriculum Overview
Jims is a ipu college, so yeah curriculum depends entirely on ipu University. First year is similar for all btech courses. Or is easy to earn marks in lab and soft skill subjects but maths or physics is hard. Your 12th basics should be very good, else these two subjects will affect your overall SGPA badly.
Internships Opportunities
Big names like Deloitte, Amul, and ICICI do show up. If you’re sharp, you’ll land a ?15k–?25k stipend internship that looks killer on a CV. The placement cell is helpful, but they are also strict. If you miss a mock interview or mess up an assignment, they will get on your case. It’s a high-stakes environment. To place good placement, your "connections" and "skills" will matter greatly.
Fees and Financial Aid
If you look at the total cost, JIMS isn't "cheap". It’s a private institution, and they charge accordingly. However, compared to other top-tier private B-schools in Delhi, it’s considered mid-to-high range. You’re essentially paying for the brand name and the placement cell. The placements depend on your Efforts and SKILLS.
Campus Life
Hi, I am Vanshika from btech AI,DS department at jims, greater Noida. The college is overall good seeing the fees structure. But the college can be considered large distance for Delhi or Faridabad students. I am from Delhi and it takes me 2-2.30 hrs to reach college everyday. The college is strict with attendance and assignments submission. Food in canteen has good reviews and library is also well maintained. The campus size is alright (neither too large nor too small). Faculty can be wierd, interesting, frustrating or ignorant (depends entirely on your mood). Oh yeah one more thing-- my first year fees is 96k. The events and sports in JIMS are quite active. While the campus might be compact, the energy during fest season is massive. It is fun. And there are lots of hackathons (mostly team based). The hackathons happen almost every month. And the Classrooms are air-conditioned and equipped with green/white board and projector. It is VERY similar to school classrooms. Even the deals are same. The lighting are good and environ is very active and fun. Teachers are also limited and fun(sometimes). And there are clubs and societies as well. The most famous ones are tech and cultural society. They are fun and amazing.
Admission
It has good btech crowd. And brand name of ipu is generally better than any random college. In my POV, jims is much better than Amity, or Sharda clg (because academic performance has more priority than social life here). All in all, jims can be considered as a Tier-2 clg.
Faculty
Most professors are genuinely top-tier. They aren’t just reading from slides; many come with years of corporate experience or PhDs. As for exams, you’ll have mid-terms, class tests, internals and externals. You won't even realise when the semester is over. So, yeah exams can be hectic.
Night Life
I am not a hosteler, so I don't know about the night environment. But the girls hostel reviews are awesome, especially about safety and living. The hostel is in campus, so it is additional benefit for your classes and academics. Moreover, a lot of gossips and opportunities are found there. Though there can be homesickness.
