What Students Say
Likes
- Unlike the popular belief that there is no studying in Amity, trust me they teach you for hours. Now it's you who either uses the knowledge provided or wastes it.
- The teachers are pretty supportive and they really do care about your education and growth. I personally had a lot of teacher looking out for me.
- Lots of creative freedom. There is a lot to explore when it comes to asft. They cover all the new technologies and apps which in the upcoming future will be pretty needed
Dislikes
- The show off. A lot of rich brats just come to the college to show off.
- People being mean to each other like it's nothing
- Normalising drinking smoking and everything
Course Curriculum Overview
The exams were all pretty practical. You get asked what you learn. People barely failed since most of the teachers were good at there jobs. There were a few exceptions ofcourse. The exams were relevant and you could literally see why that would be helpful to you in the future unlike the trigonometry that you learnt in 12th
Placement Experience
From the third year you're eligible for campus placement. The placement is not that great as of now since asft is pretty new and they're still fetching companies but there are options. The campus placement advisors are pretty great and helpful. And even if you don't find campus placement, there are a lot of openings now for the same since fashion designing has become pretty popular since the last few years
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees for the course are 11 lakhs for the total course, but then Amity is an expensive college. I did not have the option of going to nift since I decided I wanted to be a fashion designer pretty late. There are options for scholarships. Get good grades, and you can easily avail yourself of full scholarships. I had quite a few people in my class who had scholarships. There are on-campus employment plans here, though
Campus Life
The infrastructure is something that you cannot even complaint about. There's not one thing that I hated. Plenty of pretty places to hang out, a lot of parks and gardens, a lot places to eat at. There are plenty of societies that you can join within the campus depending on your interest from acting, singing, dancing, sports and games Even. The Library is literally a bookworms dream. All the latest technologies and facilities are readily available
Admission
The process was pretty drawn out. It was easy and pretty comfortable. There are no cut-off as such for asft since it's all about art and not competition. But they do make you give an entrance exams where they ask you basic questions and ask you to draw stuff. I pretty much liked everything about it. It was literally where I decided I wanted to be a fashion designer (I was confused)
Faculty
Asft is pretty chill if you compare it with the other departments. The teachers are all very chill and approachable. You don't have to think twice before reaching out to them. My placement teacher was so great that she literally made a group for placements and she still send updates on openings in brands in the group.
