AAFT Admission Dates 2026

AAFT follows a rolling admissions model for the 2026-27 academic session. Applications are accepted throughout the year, with most UG and PG batches commencing between July and September. Entrance tests and interviews are scheduled on a continuous basis after the application is submitted.

AAFT Courses and Fees

AAFT offers over 90 professional programmes spanning film, television, fashion, design, music, animation, journalism, hospitality, and emerging technology. Total programme fees, drawn from the latest fee structure, are listed below across key programme families.

The B.Des Fashion Design (4 years) is the costliest programme at INR 8,82,800. Among 3-year UG degrees, BA Acting and B.Sc Cinema both sit at INR 8,12,800 - the highest in the film and performance cluster. Certificate programmes starting at INR 50,600 offer entry-level creative training in specialisations like Radio Jockeying, Digital Marketing, and Culinary Arts.

AAFT Admission Process

Admission to all programmes at AAFT is managed through the institution’s own selection process. No national entrance exam (JEE, CUET, NEET) is required. Selection is based on the AAFT Global Entrance Exam (GEE) and a personal interview.

UG Degree Programmes (BA, B.Sc, B.Des, BPA, BHM, BFA)

• Eligibility: 10+2 or equivalent from a recognised board (CBSE / ICSE / State Board / IGCSE / IB). No minimum percentage prescribed.
• Selection stages:
  1. Online application and registration fee payment (INR 20,600)
  2. AAFT GEE - aptitude test with objective questions related to the applied programme area
  3. Personal Interview - assessing creative aptitude, communication, and programme fit
  4. Merit list and provisional admission offer
  5. Fee payment and document verification

PG Degree Programmes (MA, M.Sc, MPA, MFA)

• Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline from a recognised university.
• Selection stages:
  1. Online application with portfolio / academic transcripts
  2. AAFT GEE (PG level)
  3. Personal Interview
  4. Admission offer and fee payment

Diploma and Certificate Programmes

One-year Diploma and short Certificate programmes admit on a merit-cum-portfolio basis. Candidates submit an online inquiry form, attend an interview, and receive an offer within 5 to 7 working days. The registration fee for diploma programmes is INR 15,600, adjustable against total fees on selection.

AAFT accepts students from all academic backgrounds for its creative programmes. A student pursuing BA Journalism, for instance, does not need a science or commerce stream background from Class 12. Programme-specific aptitude is assessed at the interview stage rather than through academic score cutoffs.

AAFT Placements

AAFT Placements 2025 recorded 1,175 students placed out of 1,280 offers made, reflecting a placement rate of 93%. The highest offer stood at INR 16 LPA, and the average placement package ranged between INR 3.6 LPA and INR 4 LPA. Over 2,000 corporate recruiters participated in the placement drive.

AAFT placements cover a wide range of creative and corporate sectors. The media and entertainment industry - broadcast journalism, film production, OTT platforms, fashion houses, and advertising agencies - accounts for the bulk of recruiters. Students from technology-facing programmes (AI, Data Science, Digital Marketing) are recruited by corporate and digital media firms.

Confirmed recruiters include Zee News, Dharma Productions, Bennett Coleman, Publicis, Essel Media Group, Starbucks, Zara, and H&M. AAFT’s 30,000+ alumni network spans 120 countries, providing a strong referral base in the global film, fashion, and media industries.

AAFT Scholarships

AAFT does not offer institutional merit scholarships. However, students enrolled in AICTE-recognised programmes are eligible to apply for the NSP (PM-USP) Yojana, a centrally-funded scholarship scheme.

Educational loans and EMI-based fee payment are available for all programmes through partner banks. The application registration fee of INR 20,600 (degree) or INR 15,600 (diploma) is adjusted against the total programme fee on selection, making the upfront admission cost partly recoverable.

AAFT Campus and Infrastructure

AAFT operates from the Marwah Studios Complex in Noida Film City (Sector 16A), which is part of Asia’s largest media hub. The campus is not a standalone green-field campus but is integrated into a working film and television production centre, giving students daily exposure to live productions. A second block at Sector 125, Noida houses additional classrooms, labs, and art design studios.

Infrastructure includes professional film sets, broadcast-ready TV studios, animation labs, photography studios, a fashion and textile design lab, a culinary arts kitchen, and recording studios for the music school. The campus runs Radio 107.4 FM - Noida’s first private FM radio station - operated by AAFT students. Hostel facilities are available for both male and female students at up to INR 1,32,000 per year.

The faculty strength stands at 250+, with industry professionals serving as deans and visiting faculty across schools. Practitioners from the Indian film and television industry regularly engage with students through the documented 1,000+ celebrity interaction programme.

AAFT vs Whistling Woods International vs Pearl Academy

Aspirants interested in AAFT typically also consider Whistling Woods International (Mumbai) for film and media programmes, and Pearl Academy (Delhi/Jaipur) for fashion and design. All three are private creative institutions with industry-linked campuses and comparable programme profiles.

Whistling Woods has a narrower, deeper focus on film and media studies with strong Mumbai industry connections. Pearl Academy is the stronger choice for fashion design and fashion business careers.
