COEP - THE DREAM COLLEGE

Metallurgy and Material technology is quite intresting course. As, this course lets us know the properties of the materials that we use.Metallurgy revolves around knowing the properties of materials and further developments to improve those properties. I was quite fascinated by this branch as this helps you to know the particle level of any material in your life so I choosed it. The syllabus of this course gives you the knowledge of how to know the properties of materials and the formation process of the materials which arerequired in the big companies. The main syllabus of this course is knowing the physical and chemical properties of materials,different types of iron, Different process of metalforming from scratch etc. The main purpose of this course is to prepare a student for the research and improving the properties of materials in this new world. Exams are conducted in every 30 days in order to complete syllabus fastexams are quite difficult as compared to other colleges.

Every year many companiees come in the campus for the hiring of interns. A student can apply for internship after the 5th semester. All of the students get internship . they get nearly 10-25k internships. The branches like CS,IT,Entc even recive nearly 50-70 k as a intern. WE have to submit 3 projects throughout the journey of 4 years. We have to give a microproject in 2nd year where basically make a report and submit it to the guide. In 3rd year we have to make the microproject in which we have to study ad make a project. that is the theoritical knowledge and the processing of the project. In final year we have to make a working modwl as project also known as major project.

Our College have a good placement records. Most of the students are placed every year. Some of the students go for further education as soon as their btech is completed while other go for the Civil services. Every year more thsn 150+ comapnies visit in our college.Many Big Multinational companies come everyyear in the college.The highest package in our College is nearly about 50 lakh per annum. and the average package is about 8 lakhs per annum. Students sre eligible for the placements after the 7th sem. Companies start to come from the 7th semester in college. The percentage of the students varies according to the course. The package also varies according to the branches. The highest and good packages are recived by CS,IT,Entc students. Nearly 80-90% students are placed every year. I have planned to persue MBA after the completion of the Degree.

The fees of a general student is nearly about 90k per year. Whereas the SC/St students have to pay 3k per year and OBC 50K. The complete cost of education for a general student is nearly about 4Lakhs For 4 years including all the charges. There are a large number of scholarships for the students having a family income less than 8Lakhs per annum. There are some special scholorships for girls studying in the college. There are large number of special scholorships for Sc/St's. Our college also have alumini scholorships in which they provide phone/laptops to the students in need and having annual income less than 8lac's . I have worked as an voluntere and coordinator in the various fests in the college fests. ANd looking forward to work as a head.

Overall Experience of the campus is quite good.There are 4 main fest in the college which are conducted throughout the year. Thesefestsaremainlydividedin Tech fest,Startup fest ,cultural fest, sports fest. Mindspark is the Technical fest which is held at starting of the semester here all colleges participate in many technical competitions. Impressions is the Cultural fest and the most loved fest in COEP here students from all over INDIA participate in adifferent cultural competition. ZEST is the sports fest where different colleges compete inn different competions. Pune Startup Fest(PSF) is the startup fest where all the startup's and investors are gathered in our campus and various fun events are carried out throughout the fest. We have a large library which is having a annual budget of 1.5 crperyear where you can find all sort of books journalsan papers. All the classrooms are provided with projectors. THere are more than 40 clubs in the college .Most of them are run by the students.

The Hostels are quite good compared to the other hostels. Rooms are spacious. Each room hhave 4 members and each one gets a personal bed and a personal cubord. There is a 24*7 water and electricity supply.rooms are also provided with Ethernet and wifi. But there is merit list for hostel too. You have to be in the list in order to get hostel every year.To register for hostel you have to fill a online hostel form where you avail it according to your rank in the list. the Fees for One year is 45k and 5k deposit. you get deposit return at the end of the year. WE have a very good mess in the hostel itself.THe food is quality food the menu changes everyday. WE ARE provided with breakfast in morning, lunch in afternoon, snacks in the evening and dinner in the night. We also get nonveg every sunday. Hostel is quite affordable than the pg's and flats in pune.

The addmission process is quite simple in the college. To go to COEP you have to give MHT-CET or JEE. CET is conducted once in every year and JEE is conducted twice every year. Both of the exams are quite tough and have a large amoumnt of compeptition nearly 15lac students appear for exam every year. The Cutoff for this College is highest in all over maharashtra after IIT-B. You have to score above 94 percentile to get addmission here. There are some reserved Seats for Reserved categories and girls. The least cutoff for SC/ST is 85 percentile. The addmission process is started as soon as the result is declared. You can apply for the college through the official site of mhtcet. There is cutoff for every course you want to register for. Once your name is revealed in the list you have to reach the college within 3 days for addmission. In the college the staff is there in order to make the process simpler and help youu in the process.

All the teaching faculties in the college have completed their phd's. Most of the teaching faculties have completed their phd from IIT's. For LAB's also we have Expirienced faculties which are assisted by the Mtech students in the college. All the faculties in the college have a very good expirience of teaching. Each one have their unique way of teaching. Some of the faculties even teach for the further exams like GATE. All the faculties really work hard in order to teach the students in the class. Each class have nearly about 60 sudents in a class and the faculty tries its best to teach all the 60 students. There is no favoratism in the class. All the faculties here treat all the students in the same way. The faculties are friendly and have a doubtsolving session at every weekend if not posiible offline they even solve doubts of the students in online mode. All of them are availaible 24*7 we can contact them at anytimme. They teach us the way of approaching towards any problem.
