Course Curriculum Overview

5

The Curriculum is updated as per latest developments in the law, and the faculty are well versed with the latest developments in the laws even of core subjects, there are comprehensive specialization electives which help the students to understand their niche in a specific area of law. There are semester based exams split into three aspects CIA 1 :- Assignment based CIA 2 :- Mid semester Exams 50 marks CIA 3 :- Assignment based CIA's are spread accorss the semester according to chronology, however the gap between the same is subject to change (prepone/postpone) as per requirement or scenarios. Accounts for 45% of the marks End semester examinations :- 100 marks accounts for 50% of the marks 5% is given for attendance

Fees and Financial Aid

The course has domicile scholarship provided to students from Karnataka, and the Semester fees must be paid before the end semesters of the preceding semester, one con I have noticed that, your end semester hall ticket is contingent on you clearing the fees of the upcoming semester, and there is a provision of Installment payment on request to the accounts department. School of law, Christ has had over 1000+ placements since inception, and it has a specialized Recruitments and Placements cell which roll out opportunities from the recruiters as early as 2nd semester

Admission

The eligibility criteria is as per BCI requirements and the candidates are judged on two criterias, First one being the cutoff marks attained in the Christ University Entrance Test (CUET). Placement Experience:

The placements of Christ University Bangalore, are pretty decent. Students are eligible to get placements for the 9th semester, and there are a lot of companies that come for campus placements like Shardul Amrchnad Mangaldas and Cyril Amrchand Mangaldas, Khaitan, Puviyah and co., Trilegal and etc. The highest placement that went last year was 23 lakh, and the average placement is 6-7 lakhs. My plan is to do litigation after getting a degree.

It's the law firms like Wadia Gandhy, Dsk Legal, Trilegal and others. Some merchant bankers too are now a part of our placements thing and this is where it is getting interested as we are getting to explore new opportunities. Pay as of now is around 4-5 LPA but I hope it increases to atleast 10 by 2030.

Placements are okay not so good because of the field as Law doesn't have much placements because it is only given in corporate sector and other things people only have to get employment like for Self employment.

The university has a placement cell which is helpful. They help us get internships in which place we want (only if we are eligible). The placements are nice which are reported by the seniors. We got to know that most of the seniors had a starting package of 7L per annum.

Mostly it's the law firms like Indus Law, Globus, PICT and others. The payment scale therefore is less when it is compared with NLSIU or other NLUs. Some private companies like the UB Group and ITC amoung other others are also coming to hire students who have chosen corporate law as their main electives.
