- collage location: NIT Srinagar is located at the banks of Dal Lake with the view of zabarwan mountains and is considered one of the most beautiful campuses in india, it also has a good weather not so hot and not so cold.
- The campus is vibrant with a diverse student body there are students from all across the country. We get to feel the diversity of the country and there are annual cultural festivels and other activeties oraganised which help in overall develeopment
- NIT Srinagar has a good placement cell as an NIT many big companies visit the collage for placements. The placement cell maintains good relation with top companies it conducts regular workshops, mock interviews to prepare students for placements
Dislikes
- NIT srinagar has a infrastructure problem as it does not have that much area and the buldings are very old (most of them) there is not enough space in hostels with respect to the intake of new students
Course Curriculum Overview
The Curriculum is not up to date like rest of the country we are still being that the outdated technologies which are not relevent and it is not the problem with our collage it is problem with every other collage in the country. But in recent times there have been some changes particularly after the new education policy as from 5th semester you get a choice to choose 2-3 additional subjects and you also have a choice to do a online course from NPTEL etc. As an NIT the difficulty of exams is higher than any typical collage which is helpful for you some proffesors even ask previous questions of GATE and other competative exams which is good as you get to learn a deep understanding of the course
Internships Opportunities
Mostly software companies provide the internship oppurtunities like web developer, front end developer, backend developer, software developer etc including some hardware roles like trainee engineer etc
Placement Experience
For on campus placements you are elegible from 7th semester and following are the top companies which have/are visting NIT Srinagar IBM, D.E Shaw & Co. , Accenture, NTPC , Amazon, Wipro, Infosys etc also some of the top PSUs like BEL, GAIL etc. diffrent companies offer diffrent prociles based on your brach like junior engineer, engineer trainee, sales officer, etc CSE,IT and ECE have more than 75% placement rate i will prepare for the IES exam
Fees and Financial Aid
There are no sudden hikes in fee here and these hikes occur after 3-4 years and the fee is not like fixed for everyone like you fee depends on your income slab . If you are from genral category and have above 5Lpa income then only you have pay full tution fee otherwise you have to pay less. i belong to the below 1LPA income slab so my tution fee is 3300 my hostel fee is 8000 and mess fee is 20000.
Campus Life
The annual festivel of our collage is Techveganza , and some monthly festivel includes soapbox the library of NIT srinagar is very good and easily accessible and includes very good books and you can also suggest them the books and they can get it for you . The faculty is top class also the classrooms are very good with smart boards . there are also inter brach sports activities organised by Physical and Activity center. Student run clubs are codebox, robotix etc
Hostel Facilities
Every student gest a bed a stool and a chair along with personal LAN connection which is up for all the time with very good internet speed. The meal is average but you have the power to change the menu easily as you are paying for it . it is not difficult to change menu we often do it . registration process is easy you can do it along your course registration with 2-3 steps.
Admission
The cutoff for my branch Electronics and Communication was third highest after Computer Science and Information Technology . The basic elegibility is that you have to crack JEE Mains and based on your rank you can get the branch you can check the previous closing ranks online. The addmisson process was not that difficult the faculty involved in the process was cooperative.
Faculty
In NIT Srinagar all the branches are divided into two sections expcept civil which has three sections and each section have 45-50 students which incresases the faculty to student ratio. and it helps both students and faculty as the faculty can look out for each student and does not have only to come and give leacture in large class and leave, The faculty is well qualified and almost all of them are Phd holders from reputed collages of the country and some from foriegn countries also and they are good at their subjects but all have diffrent teaching styles some are like those typical professors who dont care about you wont listen to your problems but most of them are friendly and supportive and teach very well. For every subject in every semester we have presentations were the students get to interact with other students and faculty.
