Course Curriculum Overview

4

Well, the college is currently based on the old style of teaching where they still use black bords and old style class rooms. But recently they have added smart boards and telivisions in classrooms to over hype the sense of education. In fact the teachers also use online classes to make the studies more relevant.

Fees and Financial Aid

Since this is a government college so the fees structure is quite less. In my case the admission fees of per semester was 5000 average. For BPL students there is also availability of scholarships. Also the college offers multiple scholarships. It even offers free books from library. Though there is no placement system, but the college however gives knowledge about different competitive exams.

Campus Life

3.5

We have freshers party, regional festivals, teacher's day, Childers day, college week, various sports days and etc. The library of completely filled with multiple numbers and all types of books. Not a single genre of books are missing in library. The facilities and technological provisions are not very high but there there are. WiFi is provided all over the campus and etc. A list of extra curricular activities are present in the campus. In fact during college week all types of sports and cultural activities take place where students complete and win prizes as well as certificates. There are many well maintained different clubs and all clubs activities takes place regularly.

Admission

The admission process is completly online. We have to apply through the college portal. Reservation benifits are added there. Exams are very frequent . There are diagnostic testes, sessional examinations and semester examination in every 6 months, but the level of exams are not very hard. The document verification process could have been done online so that students don't need to wait in long lines in summer

Faculty

4.5

As per my knowledge, faculty to student ratio is 1:20. Though it may seem less but the teachers are highly qualified and they even give special classes to students if they demand. The teachers are very friendly. They try to involve all the students in college activities and doesn't really are biased. The teachers even talk very politely and their way of speaking is also very nice.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The institution provides a vast syllabus prescribed according to the courses . I did hons in english so in my field I had to study a vast syllabus ranging from ancient greek and roman literature to modern dramas The English course consists of poems, dramas, novels, novellas and many other. The course or syllabus is varies with different stage of semester or year In the first semester we had study the follows Greek literature and epic Roman literature Early indian literature In the second semester Roman literature Indian literature In the third semester Popular literature British literature American literature ....... The proficiency of students is checked in the exams where in the first sessional the level of questions remain easy Moderate to difficult in the second sessional and increases the level of difficulty with the progression of semesters If I will talk about the pros of the course It gives an insight of to the vastness of the world of literature which helps the students in different fields. It gives an opportunity to study different stories written by different writers from different countries and helps in to learn the culture, language, society, polity and the history of a particular period of literature movement. It also helps the students to think critically and creatively to utilise it in the real life scenarios. There are also some cons of this course It's vastness can sometimes make students burnt out completely due to the vastness of the course and the limited time frame where you have to cover everything from poems, novels with 300 pages to seminars , internships
