Remarks
I have no complaints. I think it's one of the best colleges in the district. It's not expensive. Teachers are good. Students are hardworking and well disciplined. Infrastructure is great. Educational environment is top notch. So yeah as i said, one of the best.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum in my opinion is pretty good. In our English department we learn about literature starting from Anglo-Saxon to modern day literature. Talking about exam structure, there are 6 semester exams every 6 months, and there are internal sessional exams one month before the semester exams. Total mark varies depending on the subject. Total of all the marks are added up to determine gpa after final semester examination.
Placement Experience
Nope. There is no placement or internship. They just hand over our degrees and we have to apply for different jobs. Getting a government job is very hard with just the graduation degree, I'd say impossible. However private jobs are easily available but the salary is very low as compared to that of government jobs.
College Events
1. Welcoming the freshers, an event where the freshers introduce themselves and perform and the best performers are crowned Mr./Miss Freshers. 2. Annual College Week, an event where different sports competitions are held where all the students can participate. And the end if the sports week, a function is organised to give away the prizes followed by performances by popular bands.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is feasible. It's not expensive at all. As a matter of fact, there is a system of free admission for students from poor background. To avail the fee waiver, one must submit a copy of income certificate of guardian. The paid admissions are also not very expensive. There is no monthly fees as well. So it is a college which is easily available to meritorious students of all financial backgrounds
Fees and Financial Aid
As i have mentioned earlier, there is a system of free admission for students from poor background. To avail the fee waiver, one must submit a copy of income certificate of guardian. Annual income should be less than Rs. 2 Lac in order to avail this scholarship. A photograph of the student planting a sampling is also required to avail fee waiver, which i think is a great initiative towards environment awareness.
Campus Life
There are physics, chemistry, botany and zoology labs in the college. However a science student would know better about them because i study English literature and there's no work for me in a lab. There are basketball, football, badminton, and cricket grounds as well as equipments for other indoor sports and activities.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes the senior students are very helpful. There are always available if the juniors need any help. Ragging is strictly prohibited and anyone found guilty in such activities is justly punished, so there's literally no such thing as ragging in our college. Alumni network is also good.
Admission
I got 365/500 in 12th with 91/100 in English. So i submitted the admission form asking for admission in B.A. English department. Then the merit list was published and my name was in it and then after all the admission procedure i got admission in the college.
Faculty
The teachers try their best to make us understand everything. They are genuinely very helpful to all of the students. However I think that some (not all) of the teachers lack the skill and ability of teaching properly. Also I know some of the faculty members who treat boys and girls in different ways. So yeah apart from a few of them, the faculty of my college is great in my opinion.
