Course Curriculum Overview

I am student from CSE 1st year,of Siliguri institute of technology ,our college belives in excellence and faculties are best they are the building blocks of our college and most important they make us familiar with the subjects and the syllabus.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 178000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The complete fee of our course is 625000 for 4 year btech CSE .They believe creating excellence but the fee should be lesser,it's not too much but for some of the students cannot afford it ,the fee hike is done every year for the new comers.

Campus Life

Lavish campus is there which makes us happy as the college is surrounded by the tea gardens which gives us fresh pollution free air and the other thing is sit is built-up near a water shore which makes the campus more beautiful m

Admission

I was admitted through the counselling of wbjee 2023 and during counseling I chose the SIT CSE as my 1st choice and after allotment of the seat i booked it by paying 5000 rupees online in the wbjee portal and then I paid 96500 in the college as my 1st semester fees.

Faculty

Awesome faculty members and teachers are there in our college and their teaching method is fantabulous they help the students alot and make students comfortable in learning and feel free to ask . The behaviour of the teacher with the students is just like bread and butter.

The course curriculum is very relevant and useful for us.They teach data structures algorithm that is very important for college placements and they also teach os, networks and other usefull things that is very important in computer science.They provide very high quality labs and the whole college has a good internet connection.Tecahers are very educated and good they helps us and teaching in very good way .The exams time schedule is also very good if there is any problem the college will change the exam date that is really a good thing.

Story of hit

Placement Experience:

The campus placement from recently past years is slightly good . Like tcs infosys cognizant ibm Capgemini like companies comes every year with good placement and capsitech gives you internship from 3 year . From 7th sem you are eligible for campus placement in 2025 the avg package is 5-7 lpa and Highest lpa is 75lpa . My plan is getting good job in good company

Placement Experience:

7th semester is when the students get to sit for placements. I am not sure about the total no of companies visited but I am aware of the name of few companies like IBM Infosys Wipro Capsitech Tech Mahindra cognizant etc . Mostly the girls are 100 percent placed cause there is diversity hiring. Mass recruiters is what visit our campus mostly.. I personally would look for a job after graduation highest package offered displayed by college is 75 lpa but I don't think so it is real. Maybe someone had worked hard and got placed off campus. On campus highest isbi guess 12-14 lpa

Course Curriculum Overview:

- I choose Data Science as it is new to my college when comparing with the other branches. The curriculum is just okay it is not per industry standards but if students deep drives in each aspects then they are likely to crack GATE exams. - The whole curriculum needs and improvement from the very 1st Year and removal of irrelevant subjects like Discrete Mathematics, Electonics, Biology for IT branches are required. - Semester exams are conducted every 6 months and CTs are conducted every 2 months

There are good placements but the placements are not up to mark. All comanies are not highly interested in hiring Specially Civil Engineering. Company should give better offers to students of NITs also.. lower packages are not accepatable

NIT Durgapur:-A wholesome Insight in the college life and it's different aspects

Placement Experience:

For campus placements student become eligible from the 7th semester onwards and for internships student get eligible from 5th semester onwards. Wide no of companies visited our campus around 180+ and made around 580+ offers to the students. The highest salary was 58LPA which was offered by DE Shaw and the highest accepted salary was 51LPA in Microsoft.The average package rolls roughly around 10-12 LPA.The profile offered include SDE roles, management roles,finance in some cases.The overall placement percentage was around 80% with Branches like electrical and metallurgy moving above 90% followed by CSE and ECE in the mid 80s while for biotech and civil the placement percentage are generally below 70.My plans after getting the degree is to land a job offer from on campus placements.Therefafter maybe look out for and MBA from top B schools of india.

I got TFW quota in this college from WBJEE Counselling, so for this the total fees for me is 1/8th of the fees paid by other, who take admission through Direct or with WBJEE Counselling itself.
