The culture of VISVA BHARATI is quite unique. The university seeks to foster creativity, critical thinking and social responsibilities among its students.
People here are very helpful. It welcomes students and scholars from diverse background.

Dislikes

Some departments should clean their buildings regularly. Toilets are unhygienic.
Hostel food is not up to the mark. It's unhygienic.

Course Curriculum Overview

Japanese is one of the hardest languages in the world. However, our professors make it easy for us to cope with the learning of the Japanese language. There should be quiz competitions , singing contest and speech contest to help us learn the language even better.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

The fee varies from year to year . As in first year it's less and as the semester goes it gets higher. But it's quite inexpensive as Visva Bharati is under central university. There are a number of scholarships which come like Mext,JAL,etc. Campusing has been stopped since covid.

Campus Life

The campus of Visva-Bharati is spread over a vast area of natural surroundings, including lush greenery, open fields, and forests. The university's academic buildings, residential quarters, libraries, museums, and cultural centres are designed to blend harmoniously with the natural landscape, creating a conducive environment for learning and personal growth. Visva Bharati is also famous for its many festivals. Some of them include the grand Poush Utsav (fest) celebrated on the Foundation Day of the University. The Basant Utsav is celebrated on Holi. Students make artworks and display them during the Nandan Mela, and attempt to sell them during the fest. Initially, the Nandan Mela had started as a fund-raising event to raise money for covering medical needs of poor students.

Admission

Admission in the ug and pg courses is done through the CUET Exams. Cuts off are taken from the result of cuet and higher secondary examination. There is reservation benefits for sc,st and obc. You'll find the application form in the main website of Visva Bharati.

Faculty

The facilities are quite good and helpful. The way of teaching in my department is quite interesting. They give their best to make the student's future bright. The cons are there is no playground or space where students can spend their spare time. Also classrooms are not well maintained.

There are government aided co curriculums which are not very useful or good because the classes get cancelled half of the time. I did not get to have any clasees and the computers and machines are all outdated.

I just applied for Visva Bharati for the course. And I got admission here. I didn't applied for any other colleges because they don't offer my subject. And there is no university near me offering this language. So simply I just applied for Visva Bharati. After the result of CUET declared every student should registered themselves through the website of the University. Then they will publish a provisional merit list of the registered students in the basis of the number they got in CUET exam. So , to apply in Visva Bharati each student have to seat for CUET exam and score good marks. After the merit list, they conduct counselling through online meeting. My new experience in VBU

The basic eligibility criteria are that for unreserved category students candidates must have 60% marks in English Hons. For OBC 56%, For SC 45% marks and for ST 40.5% marks in English Hons in 3years needed. Universities take an entrance exam of 100 marks and based on that they publish merit lists. If two or more candidate gets the same marks, the English Hons percentage comes as a 2nd tie break and if the admission exam and Hons both are the same then the HS result comes as a 3rd tie break. You have to check the VBU website for all notifications. You will get an application form which cost Rs 1000 and application dates vary. Yes, reserved seats are available for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
