Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is good, slightly different from other engineering colleges in Delhi. In first year (including both the semesters) some subjects are common to all the branches like Engineering Mathematics, English, Chemistry, Physics but there are also some branch specific subjects like DSA, Computer Programming, Engineering Graphic, Electronics and Electrical Engineering etc. Course difficulty is slightly higher then average, decent efforts are required throughout the semester to get good grades. BTech Computer Science is one of the most highly demanded courses among students currently. It has good scope and return of investment, although the competition in this field is quite high.

Internships Opportunities

0.5

Girl Candidates can get on-campus internships in 2nd year whereas all the candidates get internship opportunities in 3rd year. Several companies and startups visit the college to provide internship to students. The internships are in various fields in both Technical Field as well as Non Technical Field. Stipend can go upto 1+ Lakh per month

Placement Experience

4

Netaji Subhas University is known for it's good placement statistics. Big companies like Microsoft, Adobe, Apple visit our college every year. As of this year, Median package for BTech Computer Science was 18 LPA. Including all the other branches, the median was around 12 LPA. There is no fixed eligibility criteria, but a candidate with 8+ CGPA can appear for any company. Lower grades generally get filtered out if the number of applicants is very huge. I am also planning to get a good package and hence I am working to keep my grades well above 8 as well working on my coding skills.

Fees and Financial Aid

Overall fees of the course is roughly 10 Lakhs. Split into 4 years, which makes it roughly 2.5 Lakhs per year. Scholarship schemes are also available for economically weaker students as well as top 5% of students based on marks. Hostel charges are seperate for those who opt for hostels. Its roughly 60,000 per semester.

Campus Life

4.5

The cultural fest MOKSHA, is very popular among students. It is a very large scale fests, and big artists are called every year. Apart from it, the clubs and societies at NSUT are very active and keep on organizing various events throughout the year. There are several societies run by students for various interests and fields. For example, Debating Society, Music Society, Robotics, Dance, Drama, Theatre, Competitive Coding etc. Sports Complex is also very huge which includes a cricket ground, football pitch with stands, basketball court, volleyball court, tennis court, indoor badminton court, table tennis/snooker room. The gym is also decently equipped with various machines and free to use. Library is also very big and fully air conditioned. And the student canteen is also very good with food at very affordable rates and good quality. I have opted for PG, because the hostel rooms were full before I could get one. There are several PGs for boys as well as girls near the college.

Admission

Admission into Netaji Subhas University of Technology takes place on the basis of JEE MAINS exam scores. Admission takes place through JAC Counselling. Registration for JAC begins in May-June and counselling takes place after JEE ADVANCE results are out, i.e June-July. Cutoff for Delhi General Candidates for Computer science is 10-12k. Whereas for other state candidates the cutoff is arounf 5-6k. Cutoff for college in any other lower branch can go upto 70-80k.

Faculty

3.5

Teaching staff are highly qualified, mostly graduates and PHD scholars from IITs or NITs. Teaching style depends from professor to professor, but most of them are really helpful and interactive. Everyone has their own approach, and most of them are quite approachable to students. But some are quite strict, and don't answer to students that much. Overall teaching staff is good and are very highly qualified. Always ready to help students.
