Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I selected this course in this college as they provide an outcome-based education. They focus on two things. The first one is to develop professionals with enough knowledge of modern technologies and software, with the help of which, engineering solutions can be developed for real-world problems. The second one is to develop physically and mentally fit persons. Here physical education is also a part of the curriculum.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

After each academic year there will be a gap for doing internship before start of the next academic year. We can do internships at government departments, private companies or institutes like NIT or IIT. If the internship period is more than the gap then we will get duty leave for the class days we miss. Some faculties have contacts with some foreign universities. With their help we can do internships in those foreign universities. But one Condition is there, we should afford the travel expense

Placement Experience

4

Many companies including Scheduled banks are coming to TKM College for hiring professionals each year. More than 50% students are getting placed each year from civil department. Final year students are eligible for attending placement drives. This year, the highest package is offered by L & T and it is 6 lakh per annum. During previous years the highest package was nearly 12 Lakh per Annum. This year the average package is about 4 lakhs per annum. I didn't attend any placement drive as I am interested in startups

Fees and Financial Aid

During the admission time, I have to give about 16500 Rs. admission which includes caution deposit, sports fee,... The tution fees is collected by kerala government as this is an Aided and Autonomous institution. It is collected in every semester and it varies in each semester. The tuition fees is approximately 4000 rupees per semester(about 8000 Rs. Per year). In addition to this, there comes exam fees and small miscellaneous fees. Exam fees is 210 rupees per subject. If you take management seat in this college, then you have to pay a donation of about 1M and all other fees will be paid by the college.

Campus Life

4.5

The learning infrastructure provided is satisfactorily good. Many clubs, involved in conducting academic activities, co curricular and extra curricular activities, are there in this college. The college has a central library with thousands of books. This central library has a corner with books useful for those who are preparing for UPSC civil services examination. Respective department libraries are also there in this college We are also given with the accessibility for E journals. When talking about fests, annual technocultural fest is the prominent one which is conducted every year during April or May Other small fests and events like Film fest, literature fest, Arts fest,... may also be conducted. Sports day is also conducted every year. Overall the campus life is an enjoyable one.

Admission

The eligibility criteria is that we have to complete the higher secondary education with atleast 50% marks in science subjects. Also we have to qualify the entrance exam- KEAM with good rank. If we are taking admission through management seat, then there is no need for getting a high score in the entrance exam

Faculty

4

Enough faculties are there in the college. Most of them are having Phd in their respective field. We can freely interact with them on academic matters. They will give us all possible supports. Some faculties will provide us with opportunities to attend internships at foreign universities. Two good faculties are there in the physical education department.

Other Applied Colleges

Kerala University - [KU] | Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Mathematics)

Because I realized that, taking a Bachelor degree in Mathematics in a college under Kerala University will not give me any modern day skills or values that can help me to get a good job

As seniors said the average package is around 10lpa.If you have descent skills and above 8 cgpa you will get this average package. If you upskill yourself with effort which many students do here then you can also get above 15lpa which many seniors got.The highest package was off-campus by an ECE Student in Google despite having cgpa around 6.He had very good skills as a full stack developer.

Placement Experience:

The placements here are quite good, but not great. Because only 50% of students in a class are getting placed. From S7 onwards the placements have been started for our department. But for other departments, from S8 only companies have arrived. For CSE department, many companies are coming which include Cognizant, SOTI, Mitsogo, EY, 6D Technologies, etc. Our senior batch students have placed at many companies in this. But comparing with other senior batches, the placements at our batch is really bad.

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester and internship from 3rd semester. You can apply for internship on your own right from first semester but college gives aid from 3rd semester. The major recruiter is ISRO which offers 40-45 jobs for aerospace engineering. Also other companies like CDac Airbus Boeing and DRDO and HAL visit for recruitment. Nearly 85-90% students get placed while some opt for Higher education and research too. My primary goal is to get into ISRO also I will be preparing for gate examination to complete my IIT dream.
