Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum keeps changing and updating in order to keep up with the requirements of the market. Every now and then the college scrutinizes the courses and makes required modifications. The most relevant subjects are always given priority. They also have ample choices with regard to all the elective subjects. Trying to deal with the entire law is however difficult in a span of 4-5 months but the courses are planned in such a way that they cover almost all the major areas in it.

Internships Opportunities

4

The college has an internship cell that keeps getting offices to reach out and hire interns from time to time. Most of the internships for the ultimate and penultimate years often get converted into PPO. After every semester, the students get a month or so off to go an internship under any area of law.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placements in our college are very decent. In the last batch, out of 300 odd students, a total of 90-95 students got placed through the college placement cell. Rest, majority of them secured employment themselves in various law chambers and legal firms. The highest package that I have seen have gone over 20 lac per annum and last batch it was 18 lac per annum. Prominent names of the industry like SAM, CAM, Trilegal and Khaitna & Co., come to the college for recruitment.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee structure for my course starts from 1,55,000/- per year and sees an increase of 5,000 every alternate year. A total of 7,50,000-8,00,000 is the approximate amount spent over the course of 5 years. However it varies from domicile to domicile, NRIs and students from outside the state have to pay a bit more than the above mentioned. Scholarships are also provided conditions to few requirements that i am not sure about.

Campus Life

4.5

Apart from academics, social life is also very vivid. It may at times get hectic to balance both but one has to get a hang of it because too much of either of the things may lead to problems. Drama clubs, singing groups, dance crews and many more such clubs are there in the college. They practice regularly and keep taking part in Intra-college fest and inter-college fests as well.

Admission

After applying for the course, one has to clear their entrance test followed by a personal interview. Doing well in both tests is very important and the candidate is adjudged according to both aspects separately. The forms are usually out in the month of February on their official website and the exams take place in April. If you are preparing for CLAT then that is enough, there is no need to prepare especially for that however if you are not a CLAT aspirant, then a bit of hard work would be needed. Its not too tough if you well versed with the syllabus. They also provide the syllabus for the entrance.

Faculty

4

Faculty in our college is very nice. Ranging from 20+ years of experience in teaching to freshly graduates, expertising in almost all the fields in Law. More than the experienced professors, the young professors' enthusiam and zeal to teach and their in-depth knowledge about their area is applause worthy.

Interview Experience

3.5

Written Test followed by a Personal Interview. The exam was conducted as objective type and the interview was taken by the faculty itself. For interviews, one must be aware about things going on around them, confidence should be seen on the face of the candidate, body language should be formal and stern. I was given to speak about COVID-19 and its effect on the economy of your country and I was supposed to speak for solide 2 minutes.

The placements of Christ University Bangalore, are pretty decent. Students are eligible to get placements for the 9th semester, and there are a lot of companies that come for campus placements like Shardul Amrchnad Mangaldas and Cyril Amrchand Mangaldas, Khaitan, Puviyah and co., Trilegal and etc. The highest placement that went last year was 23 lakh, and the average placement is 6-7 lakhs. My plan is to do litigation after getting a degree.

It's the law firms like Wadia Gandhy, Dsk Legal, Trilegal and others. Some merchant bankers too are now a part of our placements thing and this is where it is getting interested as we are getting to explore new opportunities. Pay as of now is around 4-5 LPA but I hope it increases to atleast 10 by 2030.

The university has a placement cell which is helpful. They help us get internships in which place we want (only if we are eligible). The placements are nice which are reported by the seniors. We got to know that most of the seniors had a starting package of 7L per annum.

Mostly it's the law firms like Indus Law, Globus, PICT and others. The payment scale therefore is less when it is compared with NLSIU or other NLUs. Some private companies like the UB Group and ITC amoung other others are also coming to hire students who have chosen corporate law as their main electives.
