Course Curriculum Overview

Japanese language course isn't easily found in India. Less than 10 colleges provide bachelor and masters degree on Japanese language in India. JNU's Japanese Department is one of the finest amongst the country. The syllabus, though the book followed is a bit old, it covers a lot of aspect of the language. On top of that, the opportunities to get scholarship is high only in JNU. After 2nd year, students get the opportunity to go to Japan as foreign exchange students or as research scholars.

Class Size: 32Course Fees: INR 1056 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Each semester, a student will have to pay around 150-200rs as the semester registration fee. MCM is a scholarship provided by JNU for students of lower income sector of the society. Hostel fee will be 6000rs (4500rs being the security deposit). The students are expected to pay their mess bills every month.

Campus Life

Festivals in JNU is conducted by the centre not by the University. For example, the Japanese Centre conducts Kizuna, a cultural festival. JNU is also very politically active of a campus. There circles and clubs run by students but are difficult to find.

Hostel Facilities

For bachelors and masters students, double bed room is provided. Mess food will be changed every month depending on the students needs and demands. There are also students who stay in PG or rent a room in Munirka (the nearby locality)

Admission

The candidates have to clear CUET(UG) with the main subjects being English and General Test. Candidate (atleast 17 of age) must have completed 12th grade with atleast 60% of marks. Reservations according to caste is also considered.

Faculty

Around 7 professors are in the centre, compared to many other places, the faculty to student ratio is low. Most of the faculties are highly qualified. One on one approach time is also available, which makes it easier for the communication between the faculties and the students

Dyal Singh Placements aren't that hefty that I can boast a lot about them. Since I have already mentioned in previous section that I want the deepest knowledge of political science and the only way, one can gain that is by doing masters. Placement Experience:

Media people as Hindi Hons students obviously have chane there or researches. Some even pursue freelance things as college provides the perfect platform to gain confidence and showcase the skills. DSC is a decent college!

Placement Experience:

DSC placements are not that great as around 30-40% students are placed and that is how it is here. Most students of Political Science go for higher studies or get job opportunities in political consultancy or journalism.

For placements, there's not much on campus placement programs. Our placement cells are active though. Time to time they keep us posted about the upcoming internship or job opportunities and even invite various organisations for placements. Gargi : A home to a stranger

Course Curriculum Overview:

I love the course I have opted for in the College. I had so much interest in literature since I was in school, hence made the decision to opt for English Honours in my undergraduate degree. The curriculum of this particular course is easy to get, teaches practical knowledge. We have Internal Assesment and Continuous Assessment before theory exams. In continuous assessment, we are given some topic to make presentation or a group discussion from our sense of knowledge and experience. Speaking up in a crowd and in front of the whole class gives the practical knowledge of being there, present, confidence and speak up your thoughts I would love if we can also watch theatre within the curriculum as we read various plays but watching and analysing them would be great. Mostly the exams are held in December and May, they are moderate level of examination and I have found absolute no difficulty sitting in them and writing. We get 3 hours for the core subjects, and 1 hour for our respective VACs, SECs and AECs.

Bachelor of Language at JNU

I applied in Delhi University for Bachelor of Management studies got Aryabhatta college as it was mistakenly my first preference, I had enough marks to get admission into a better college compared to Aryabhatta college for BMS, So I left that. Than I applied in Jawaharlal Nehru University for BA Hons French as it seemed very interesting course. And compared to Aryabhatta college, JNU was very cheap, had hostel and very other facilities like 24*7 library, college life. The fee for Aryabhatta college was 27000 I guess and 268 for JNU. I aplied in these two universities only , luckily scored good so I didn't have to wait for second list. The admission for JNU was also very smooth, You have to fill the application form online after cuet result(Generally 85-90% is safe score), it cost around 250 rupees, then after result , you have to visit university with your documents like 10th,12th marksheet, Aadhar card, migration certificate, character certificate and within one day you will get your admission process done. You'll be allocated with your hostel and ID card, library slip then and there....Read More

Review of Jawaharlal Nehru University

I applied for delhi University but it's free. Structure is quite high as compares to JNU.Jnu is affordable for students and provide huge campus with lots of opportunity and placements. First you have to score above 75 in your 12th board. Then you have written Jee mains and you have to score well; there is a benefit to their categories. JNU: FAR FROM EXPECTATIONS (in a good way)
