Course Curriculum Overview

4

Agriculture is a very important part of our country. We study literally everything related to the agriculture. This includes vast subjects from basics to the recent technology. Per semester we have around 12 courses or subjects which we study for 6 months. Mid-term examination is taken at 12 weeks of the semester. After that practical examination is taken and finally within few days external examination is taken. We have a lot of syllabus to be studied in few weeks. Most of the courses we have like lengthy theoretical part which we meed to memorize and understand to write. We have less calculation and mathematical part. The teachers do their best to teach and make us understand the subject. They teach us orally, through presentations and by practicals. The exams are very difficult and we should study daily . Since the exams are scheduled back to back with no gap between successive exams. We get stressed out and sleepless nights for studying daily.

Fees and Financial Aid

The overall fee structure for the student is around 2 lakhs. The fees is paid every semester. And for 1 semester the fees is around 25000. It is changed according to the courses and the other things. The tution fee, practical fees , exam fees everything is included in this only. At the beginning we have to separately pay for the uniform and books also. And we have to pay monthly mess bill for hostel. It keeps on changing monthly according to the total bill and necessity of the monthly expenses. The scholarships are provided for the students. The government scholarships like SSP and NSP are applied by the students and they will recieve it. Apart from that the university provides general merit scholarship for tge students who do not recieve any such scholarship. Most of the students after completing degree go for the higher education in M.sc Agri or MBA for business. Some of the seniors have attempted for the competitive exam for civil services and successfully achieved.

Literarute like debate, essay writing, speech. Sports are also held at college level between class students and between intercolleges. The college library is well established and digitalized. We have numerous books available for us related to our syllabus. We can issue the book anytime. We can have access to computers. We can read online newspapers, books, journals. Recently our college has initiated the clubs. Like music club, literature club, competitive exam club,JRF exam club. They arranged a teacher who will guide us through our interested course

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel is very nice. The rooms are very good. Per room we live four members. The food provided is nice. Mainky the food is vegetarian and the menu is strictly followed. At the month end feast is done where non-vegetarian food is also prepared. Every meal is freshly prepared. Hostel registration is done at the first day of the college. 15000rs is given as deposit and monthly we have to pay the mess bill. The mess bill monthly comes around 2500rs which is affordable

Admission

The entrance exam for B.sc agri is through K-CET. We wrote the entrance exam after 12th std. And the rank cutoff was 15k. We were selected for the B.Sc agri course. When the counselling started we chose colleges we wanted to take admission in and they assigned us a college. Then the admission order was received. We submitted the admission order and paid fees in the bank. Later we came to college enrolled our name and admission was successful. Other than CET another exam is written by our fellow classmates called ICAR which is similar to NEET for agriculture course. They also took the admission through the same process. The reservation such as NCC,371-J,SC-ST, are generally helpful for the admission

The teachers are very well and thoroughly prepared for the classes. They often interact with us in the classroom. We share our doubts and they clear it. They help us in studies. They guide us how to read and cover the syllabus, how to write answers in the exams. A group of 10 students is assigned to one lecturer or teacher as a counsellor who looks after our grades and performance in the college as well as extracurricular activities. They guide us and if at all there's any problem we are going through we can share with them and they help us to solve it. These counsellors look after us as a parent and they deal with our problems carefully.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum was very well structured with both theoretical and Practical exposure. The curriculum is designed in such a way that they are very relevant to real world , this also prepare the students to the real world applications and further academic pursuits. The improvements can be made in the practical part of the courses. There must be regular field visits and utilisation of funds to bring innovation. The internal exam would be after 2 to 2.5 months after the commencement of the semester and practical exams would be immediately after 10 days of the internals. The external or final exams would be after a month of practical exams. There will be enough time to prepare for the exams from the commencement of the semester but there will be no study holidays and gaps between the exams.
