NAARM Admission Dates 2027

Admissions for the NAARM PGDM ABM 2027-29 batch (19th batch) are anchored by CAT 2026, with the exam scheduled for November 29, 2026. CAT 2026 registration is now open at iimcat.ac.in. NAARM application is expected to open around December 2026.

NAARM Courses and Fees

NAARM offers two programmes in agricultural management. The flagship PGDM ABM is a nationally competitive programme with 66 seats, open only to graduates in agriculture and allied sciences.

The PGDM ABM covers specialisations in agri-input marketing, agri-finance, supply chain and logistics, and agritech. Campus hostel is available at subsidised ICAR rates of INR 150 to INR 8,000 per year.

NAARM Admission Process

PGDM ABM Admission

Admission to NAARM PGDM ABM is restricted to holders of a 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Veterinary Science, Horticulture, Forestry, Fisheries, Dairy Technology, Food Technology, or allied sciences from a UGC-recognised university. A 3-year graduation degree is not eligible. Final-year candidates may apply provisionally.

Selection uses a 100-point composite score:

• CAT or CMAT percentile: 35 marks
• Group Discussion (GD): 20 marks
• Personal Interview (PI): 20 marks
• Analytical Writing Skill Test (AWST): 10 marks
• Academic record: 5 marks
• Diversity factor (state-wise representation): 5 marks
• Work experience: 5 marks (0 marks for under 6 months; 5 marks for over 15 months)

GD-PI is conducted at four centres: Hyderabad, New Delhi, Kolkata, and Pune. Reservation applies as per Government of India norms for SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), and EWS candidates. No management quota exists; all 66 seats are merit-based.

Diploma Admission

The Diploma in Technology Management in Agriculture targets working professionals and ICAR scientists. Applicants must hold a graduate degree in Agriculture or allied sciences. Admission is through an institutional notification published at naarm.org.in. The programme fee is INR 25,000 total.

NAARM Placements and Career Outcomes

NAARM PGDM ABM achieved 100% final placement for the 15th consecutive year with the 2022-24 batch. The average package stood at INR 10.70 LPA. A total of 22 companies participated, of which 9 were first-time recruiters.

Top recruiters include Coromandel International, DCM Shriram, FMC India, LT Foods, IDFC First Bharat, Godfrey Phillips India, and TechnoServe India. The agribusiness and agri-input sectors absorb the largest share of the batch. The ICAR campus setting gives students direct access to agricultural research networks, which recruiters in agri-input and agritech value.

NAARM Rankings

NAARM is ranked in the Management category by NIRF. Given its specialised agri-management focus, NAARM does not appear in broad engineering or university rankings.

NAARM is the only ICAR institution ranked in the NIRF Management category, reflecting its standing as the premier agri-business management institute in India.

NAARM Scholarships

NAARM students can access central government fellowships and scholarship schemes tied to their agricultural background and category status.

NAARM Campus and Infrastructure

ICAR-NAARM occupies a 50-hectare (approximately 123-acre) campus at Rajendranagar, Hyderabad, within the larger ICAR campus complex. The green, landscaped grounds include natural rock formations and water bodies, providing a research-oriented residential environment.

Key facilities include air-conditioned amphitheatre-style classrooms with integrated audio-visual systems, a GIS lab, computer and multimedia labs, Organisational Behaviour (OB) labs, audio-visual and communication labs, a library and documentation centre, and a medical and health centre. On-campus hostel accommodation is available for both male and female students at highly subsidised ICAR rates. Guest houses for visiting faculty and trainees are also available on campus.

NAARM vs MANAGE vs IRMA

Aspirants shortlisting NAARM for agri-management programmes typically compare it with the National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad, and the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA), Gujarat, as all three cater to the agri-management and rural-development applicant pool.

NAARM leads on NIRF rank among the ICAR agri-management institutes. IRMA offers a broader applicant pool by accepting non-agriculture graduates, and carries a higher NIRF rank overall. MANAGE closely mirrors NAARM in eligibility and structure. Candidates with a 4-year agri degree should consider all three based on fee budget and NIRF standing.
