Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum was very well structured with both theoretical and Practical exposure. The curriculum is designed in such a way that they are very relevant to real world , this also prepare the students to the real world applications and further academic pursuits. The improvements can be made in the practical part of the courses. There must be regular field visits and utilisation of funds to bring innovation. The internal exam would be after 2 to 2.5 months after the commencement of the semester and practical exams would be immediately after 10 days of the internals. The external or final exams would be after a month of practical exams. There will be enough time to prepare for the exams from the commencement of the semester but there will be no study holidays and gaps between the exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

The courses are very affordable. There will be a sem wise fee approximately Rs.17,000-20,000 per sem. This includes tuition fees, admission fees, exam fee, development fees, lab fees, tour fees, all other charges are included in this. There is no need to pay any extra fee anymore. For NRI students the fees would be Rs.3,00,000 along the sem fee. The students can avail two kinds of scholarship namely vidyasiri or ssp scholarship which is state sponsored and the other is NSP scholarship is central government sponsored. Both the scholarships will be applied by the college management. There are many other merit based scholarship which can be a great benefit for the students. The students can also make use of Netaji Subhas-ICAR International Fellowship, National Talent scholarship and India Agri Fellowship. Besides this, in Karnataka, the Raita Vidya Nidhi Scholarship Scheme also provides financial assistance to children of farmers pursuing higher education, with scholarship amounts ranging from Rs. 2500 to Rs. 11000.

Campus Life

5

My overall experience was good. I engaged in all the cultural festivals in the college. The college also organises youth fest, inter college fest, sports. These achievements or records can benefit the students in their JRF exams for their post graduation. There were educationa trips, field visits, NSS, training programs, RAWE, exhibition etc. There was a seven days state educational tour and 21 days All India Tour as a educaztional curriculum, where we get to explore lots of historical, cultural places, monuments, educational and research institutes. Overall the experience was very good and one can end up with lots of memories by the end of the completions of the graduation.

Hostel Facilities

5

The hostel is very good with hygiene. Every student is provided a seperate cot, table, bed, pillow. Rooms with attached washroom and common washroom both are available. Food is very good where every morning different breakfast is available, afternoon Roti with curry, rice and sambar is provided. Every night chapathi, curry, rice and sambar ir provided. snacks is provided in the evening. During summer, buttermilk is also provided. At the end of the month Month feast is celebrated. The menu is decided by the students itself. The registration process is very simple and carried out during the admission time itself ehere 15000 deposit should be made which is returned when vacating the hostel. And the mess bill every month is based on the monthly expenditure which is divided equally among all the hostelites. It would cost around 3000Rs.

Admission

I dhose this college byb a chance but not by choice, I always wanted to pursue engineering but my parents didn't wanted me to join engineering course. I was a topper since my school days. School topper in 10th and Taluk 3rd topper in PU. During KCET counselling I secured good rank and I got allotted to this College. When I did research on this college I founf interestiong and Joined this college. I had great many opportunities but I didn't chose them because of some personal reasons. Admission process would be simple. Firstly one should qualify KCET examination and secure a good rank to get into this college. There will be some easy procedures to get admitted to this college

Faculty

4

There will be 2 faculties for each course and one lab attender who looks after the laboratory works. The faculties are very good and helpful. my favourite lecturers are DR. Basavaraj Kalmath, Dr. Shankarmurthy from Entomology department, Dr. Basavaraj Ganiger from Seed production and seed technology department, our former Dean Dr. Lokesh, Dr. Sharan Bhopal Reddy fron Soil Science department. They also stood themselves for the students to help them achive goals in all aspects like financially, mentallu, physically. They provide free JRF classes for the students who are preparing for JRF. They also guide us to the right path. I do not like few lecturers who were narrow minded and who were practising bad habits. There were around 10 to 13 subjects in each sem. The subjects were easy to understand but difficult to remember as the subject were more and syllabus was vast. The students can easily score and mainyain CGPA above 9.0. The course curriculum is vey relevant and would be helpful in th future too for students who are preparing for JRF, UPSC, AO, ADO, ARS etc. There were very few students who would fail in the exams.

Night Life

4

There is a digital library where the students can get free access to all the books from all the departments. It had books for civil services and othe government exams. There is a gym in the sports ground. There is a cafeteria, and shops where organic juice, organic products like muffin, bread, rusk, jam, gulkand is served. There are many places in the city to hand out with friends. One can visit Gulbarga fort, Yadgiri fort, Buddha Vihar, Mantralaya Diggi, Sharanabasaveshwara temples, shopping complexes, restaurants to celebrate birthday parties etc. The locaity is very safe to roam.

Other Applied Colleges

University of Agricultural Sciences - [UAS] | Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Agriculture)

As I have secured good rank in KCET exam, I have been allotted to this college in the first round of my KCET counselling. My interest towards farm science made me chose this college.
