Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The college offers BA LLB Honours degree. General pool of subjects are taught till 7 semesters. the last 3 semesters students have to choose their Honours subjects. These include criminal law Corporate Law International Law constitutional law and intellectual property rights law. All though the subjects offered are really nice but there are Areas where improvement is required like the subject should be more corporate and business law Central so that students get placed in the Corporate Law firms.

Internships Opportunities

4

In the college we have an internship and placement committee which looks after the internships which are provided to the students through the college. The internships are provided in general government organisations and certain Corporate Law of firms.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placements are not that good in the college. Only around 20 to 30 people are place every year through the College placements. However a lot of students get place through pre placement offers on their own. The students go for law internships and work there and get placed. Most of the students prepare for Judiciary and civil services

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure of the college is very flexible and very less compared to other private and government National Law University. You only need to pay around Rs 1 lakh for college and 35000 for mess. Hostels are provided for free. The amenities provided in the college are we more than the fees that is charged.

Campus Life

4

The college has a lot of clubs and Society. We have Corporate law Society and arbitration loss society etc. We have different committees for different events that are organised in the college like the Legal Aid committee for organising events related to alternative dispute resolution and sports committee for organising sports related events.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The food provided in the hostel is decent compared to the price that is charged. The meals provided are vegetarian however one can take non veg on certain days by paying a small charge. We have a canteen in the college which has food options on a small amount of price.

Admission

To get into Dr Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University Lucknow one needs to clear the exam of CLAT. If you come from the general category then you have to get a rank of around 600. Reservation benefits are available to SC ST OBC and NRI students.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty in the college is really qualified. They know the subject thuroli and classes are held regularly the student faculty ratio is good. There is one professor for every 30 students. There are very highly qualified professors who have completed there education from foreign universities. Certain professors have written numerous academic papers and books. Teachers are very supportive throughout the college any student can approach any of the Teachers for any help be it be Academics or any other support which a student wants. However of you faculty members are not that qualified and I don't like the way of teaching but they are very few in number. Majority of the faculty members are really nice and they know how to do their job and they are very supported throughout the college.

Pre placements starts from 4th year and post placements too happens as those who remain to get any placements are also assisted. Law jobs are anyways less so percentage of students getting jobs is also quite less as batch size is also 100+.

Corporate Law is a subjects but no corporate placements as law firms were the sole contributors of our university. They gave as many placements as 30% students were placed and that too with very thin packages. So, university needs to fix this just like they have fixed every single thing at the campus.

Placements for Law are not comparable to the tech courses so far at GLA. Every year combining BBA LLB and BA LLB around 300 and I don't think even 100 are placed. So, GLA University will have to find a way to get atleast half the students find placements here and because I know my chances of getting placements are slim, I will be opting for doing LLM after I am done with LLB in 2027.

The college provide students with PDF lectures which focuses on personality development which includes confidence building, speaking and listening skills, etc. They also give tips for a better resume and how to give interview and prepare us for interviews by organising mock interviews. 5th year students are the focused students for the campus placement. Some students choose to be an advocate and others may prepare for higher studies and or prepare for judiciary and other civil services examinations. I personal preference to go for the one field which can open my ways for other field stoo.

Placements currently as I am in my final year and couldn't find placements through the firm's which came here for placements. Therefore I had to find it on my own just like half of our batch has to as less than half were placed. LLM is also going on in my mind but that is only if I am able to get in top colleges or will continue to serve as a lawyer.
