Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum contains all the necessary topics that are needed to have an expertise in the field. The curriculum also contains the lab practicals which helps to make up skills in that particular experiment. The first semester exmas were delayed by 2 months which led to shortage of time for second semester. The exmas are a bit hard and thorough preparation is necessary.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tuition fee is around 4000 rupees per semester but the lab fee is 8000. So around 13000 rupees per semester. There are scholarships for the SC/ST and OBC students. There is also a scholarship for students whose family annual income is below 1 lakh. I have not taken any campus employments yet. I'm not planning to, either.

Campus Life

5

Our campus does hold various activities which focus on artistic and athletic expertise. College days, fine arts days, food fests, etc. are some among them. It does help in providing a relief in our tough academic life. There is a sports club which pays attention to various athletic items such as football, cricket, hand ball, etc.

Admission

The application fee for the entrance exam was 500. The entrance exams was out of 100 consisting of 4 sections. I secured 3rd rank in the entrance exam. There are no reservations for SC/ ST and OBC students in admission process in my department.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty in my department are all well qualified. All teachers have a doctoral degree. They are very friendly. The method of teaching is very understandable. Visual representation of the topics provides an in depth understanding. We can approach our teachers any time for clarification of doubts.

Practical Applications like practical session, intership or industrial collaboration that gives hands on experience influence me to choose this course (biotechnology). Core subjects like genetics , molecular biology, genetic engineering, microbiology etc.. and connection with field like bioinformatics, bioprocessing etc .. prepare me for further academic pursuits. For practical session teaching method requires improvement. The frequency and timing of exam is a difficult level .

Our batch was in Covid lag batch. So the course curriculum was highly rushed. We weren't able to cover aspects which would have real world applications. The last semester research project was fine but still more hands on experience and more research oriented approach could've been taken .

Course Curriculum Overview:

the course curriculum is overall average. the vcurriculum is not up-to-date, and the changes in technology or the new innovations and updations in technology are not introduced in the curriculum. also the inconsistency in conducting exams is also a problem; the university is to blame for that; there is no fixed time period or a timetable for the examinations conducted by the university. and also the dirty politics going on in the university is also to blame for this.
