What Students Say

Likes

Professors have good knowledge of their field.
Infrastructure of college is nice . Separate labs and computer labs for different courses.
Library has vast variety of books , both academic and non academic.

Dislikes

College campus is small and not very spacious.
Salary has not been providing to teachers for 4 to 6 months.
Lack of teaching faculty. Few teachers are available.

Course Curriculum Overview

Due to the implementation of NEP, new syllabus has been introduced to the courses . I think new syllabus has lack of planning and management of the course. Due to new syllabus, most of the teachers do not expertise in subject.

Class Size: 130Course Fees: INR 23000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

In the beginning second year of course, Tuition fees was increased for eight thousand rupees without any prior notice. In the first year fees was 19000 for B.A. Program course but in second year, it was 25000 for the same course.

Campus Life

The infrastructure of college is nice and fresh enough. But the college campus is small and not very spacious. Societies are good . They held many programmes and seminars for the students. There is lack of sports activities

Admission

Common University entrance test (CUET) has been implemented since 2022 for the admission. Admission has been done under CUET process. I think was fair enough. It set level of qualification is required to admit in your desired course.

Faculty

Faculty to student ratio is very high . One subject teacher for class of strength of 80-90 students. Most of the teachers are guest teachers or contractual teachers. Lack of permanent professors . Due to implementation of NEP , new syllabus has been introduced. Teachers have lack of knowledge for new syllabus

DSC is a decent college!

Placement Experience:

DSC placements are not that great as around 30-40% students are placed and that is how it is here. Most students of Political Science go for higher studies or get job opportunities in political consultancy or journalism.

Placement Experience:

For placements, there's not much on campus placement programs. Our placement cells are active though. Time to time they keep us posted about the upcoming internship or job opportunities and even invite various organisations for placements. You can even look for off campus placement programs and teachers are very helpful in this. They even offer letter of recommendation for the internship opportunities upon request.

Gargi : A home to a stranger

Course Curriculum Overview:

I love the course I have opted for in the College. I had so much interest in literature since I was in school, hence made the decision to opt for English Honours in my undergraduate degree. The curriculum of this particular course is easy to get, teaches practical knowledge. We have Internal Assesment and Continuous Assessment before theory exams. In continuous assessment, we are given some topic to make presentation or a group discussion from our sense of knowledge and experience. Speaking up in a crowd and in front of the whole class gives the practical knowledge of being there, present, confidence and speak up your thoughts I would love if we can also watch theatre within the curriculum as we read various plays but watching and analysing them would be great. Mostly the exams are held in December and May, they are moderate level of examination and I have found absolute no difficulty sitting in them and writing. We get 3 hours for the core subjects, and 1 hour for our respective VACs, SECs and AECs.

Truth About Hidden IPCW (DU)

Placement Experience:

Since i am 2nd year myself, hearing from seniors, seeing placement cell activities and reading reports, placement at ipcw are decent but far from perfect. The placement drive is not as huge or reliable as some commerce Acc. to the nirf report, for ug courses out of 1204 eligible students 118 got placed, which is roughly 9-10, for pg course, out of 100 eligible students only 6 got placed. Median package for UG was 6.20 lakhs per annum, and for pg is 6.7 lakhs per annum. In earlier years (2022-23) , median UG package was higher. The highest package went to 23 lakhs per annum which was quite impressive. It was from DE Show and co., Wipro, Capgeminie etc. there are regular recruiters like DE. Shaw abd co.,Wipro, Capegemini, Godrej properties, Sirion Labs etc. What i feel personaly as an eco hons. student unless i build extra i cant really expect placement. Masters and competetive exams are next option

I applied for cuet to enter a regular college but unfortunately I didn't score well and didn't get any regular college which provide BMS as their course but in sol you do not have to apply to cuet you are selected on the basis of your 12th marks and I scored good in 12th so I got enrolled in dusol.
