Remarks

I would have to add this that the college system is a bit dull as far as results and certificate issuance goes.

Entrance Preview

I gave AIEEE but couldn't get my desired course in any of the colleges. Since IUST also provides admissions on the basis of AIEEE score I got my desired stream. The location was feasible for me and I could opt for hostel facility as well. It was an easy and satisfactory option available.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The courses provided here are to make sure student excels in every field. Here knowledge is given about other streams as well. You get to know about your course in detail. The faculty is really good and knowledgeable. Towards the end of the course, you have to pursue training in the field a few seminars and a final thesis project.

Internships Opportunities

No, this college does not offer an internship. However, a particular department is available for financing your project if they find it interesting.

Placement Experience

1

As far as civil engineering dept is concerned only a few companies visit the campus. Though students who are interested in the job gets it anyway. JK Cements paid a visit for placement in which 2 students were placed. Though students should not keep there hopes on-campus placement as far as civil dept goes.

College Events

4

An annual event called wasteway is celebrated. It is named after the mountain over which university is located. An annual trek program is also organized in university. And many other sports events are also organized which I am not much aware of. The university is very much full pack.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is quite feasible compared to other universities around. It is semester wise and takes into consideration poor and orphan kids. the university offers a special discount for privileged students. It also helps students with the scholarships.

Fees and Financial Aid

To my information, I don't know of any such scholarships or loan facilities. However, the university dean makes sure to inform students about out of college scholarships.

Campus Life

3

Talking about the gender ratio it must be around 50:50. There are students from around Kashmir there and everyone is good to each other. As far as curriculum goes labs are well equipped. Many workshops on different topics and for different courses are organized on the campus.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

The hostel facilities in the university are getting better day by day. Girls hostel, in particular, is on the campus and provides good facilities. The boy's hostel is not on campus but also provides good facilities. Students can avail bus services as well.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors in our dept were very helpful. We have had a great time together. They helped us with our projects and subjects.

Exam Structure

Exams are very much subject oriented. There is one minor exam and one major. For practicals and other viva related exams externals are invited for the same. The pattern for exam papers is such that a student's actual pros can be tested. It helps in the growth of a student.

Admission

After getting my AIEEE score I had already applied here. So in this college my 12th marks and AIEEE score was considered in the ratio of 70:30 and thus I got admission in this college. I had to visit the university to fill in a few forms and then a merit list got out through multimedia and I came to know about my course and stream.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty is very knowledgeable compared to other universities. They provide you with everything required for a particular course. They focus on field related problems and make sure students are ready for the field. Not all faculty members are permanent but the scrutiny process for contractual posts is very hard.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course work for PhD programmes is very relevant and maliable. You can pick and choose your own individual challenges and subjects. There are no restrictions on the freedom of choice. However, you might have to enroll in a few Swayam course for the completion of your course work. The course work also does not prepare you for any real world applications or even your PhD really. Course work can be heavily improved by a new hands-on pedagogy which may induce ideas instead of deducing them from various books and sources. The frequency of exams is once per coursework.
