Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course includes theory and also the practicals that are very helpful. The course also privodes 3internships (social, academic and industrial) in 4years and a project in thelast year. I think these arevery helpful in a student life.

Internships Opportunities

4

Our college provides 3 internships during the 4year course duration. In the 1st year we are given to do the social internship connecting to an NGO taking any current problem faced by people. In the 2nd year we are given to do the Academic Internship in any college/universities according to our choices . And in the 3rd year we are given to the Industrial internship in OIL India Ltd. Or Numaligarh Refinery or any other industries we are personally interested.

Placement Experience

3.5

Campus Placements are nor too bad in our college. Every year a lots of students are being placed in various companies. Some students are also being placed directly in Govt. Jobs like OIL India Ltd. and some refineries. And for those who are not placed, they go for further studies and some prepare for Govt. jobs Offcampus.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees is 3500 per semester addmission and 1500 in per semester exam form fill. Thr college alsi provides various scholarships to the reserved people. Campus employment or campus placement is not too bad. Every yeara lots ofstudents are being placed in various companies.

Campus Life

4

My overall experience with college life is good. People are helpful to socialize. An introvert also learns to socialize in our campus. Friends are friendly and hostelers are way too communicating and helpful . The professora are helpful too. There are many clubs which is one of the main ways to socialize with both the juniors and seniora. The clubs are mostly active in college fest and give us opportunities to organize varuious events. The infrastructure is good but not that beautiful comparing to other private colleges.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The Hostel Facility is good-good. The rooms are 3 seaters and must consists of both juniors and seniors in a room that help us in making a good bond in between various batches. Breakfast is provided, and Two times rice in lunch and dinner. Dinner consists of vegies, eggs, chicken, fish according to the dag of the week. Overall its good.

Admission

To get admission in Jorhat Engineering College, students have to appear in a state based entrance test named CEE. The cut off of the test varies every year according to the batch and forthe reserved caste.

Faculty

4

The faculty members are supportive and helpful. They never deny to meet us if we are in need of them. They try their best to give us their quality time in both learning and help us in some other problems too.

The college placement aren't much in our college because our college is too deep inside the area it's like a village area companies find it difficult to come here. Companies mostly come for chemical and mechanical engineering students to hire them. For electrical and civil you have to apply off campus. I don't know the highest package from our college but the recent package that was offered by mahindra to mechanical engineering students was 19000 per month. Atleast 35% students get on campus placement. My plan after degree is to pursue mtech or maybe BFA in Seoul, South Korea or maybe find a job outside india

Placement Experience:

The placement of this university is not upto the mark. The highest package recieved by a student was 37 LPA. He was an ECE student. The average LPA is around 6-7 LPA. I think it's a bit low compared to NITs/IITs. But compared to other central and state universities its quite good.

The curriculum is btech and since it is an IIT the faculty are the best in their fields profs here have done PhD from Stanfords of the world and the prof-student ratio is very healthy. Although there are a lot of exams in the ballpark weekly one or the other exam will be there and the exams are very tough but grading is relative.
