Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is very vast I would say. The topics are relatable to the subject if not directly but indirectly. There are a lot of things to cover and I think during exams is the only time anyone really studies. So keeping the bookish knowledge to a minimum would pose a real advantage in learning real life skills required for the course we have opted. In our respective job fields. There are two sets of exams every semester and there are multiple minor exams throughout the semester. We also have lab tests and practical examinations as well as university exams concerning placement preparedness as well.
Internships Opportunities
I haven't ventured much into that but some companies do come to take kids for interships like high radius, deloitte etc. There are real world application projects you can be part of. You can also be a oart of research groups and write thesis papers. The faculty can help with that.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible after the 7th sem itself i.e. the fourth year. There are numerous companies that hire from our college top being, tcs, infosys, delloite, tech mahindra etc. The placement ratio is 100% but the average package is a concern as it just ranges from 3-5 lakhs. My plans are to apply for a placement but also have a backup in place for my personal benefit. I plan to then take up on MBA course and improve my business Iq.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee sturcture ranges from 3,50,000 per year to 4,50,000 depending in the facilities you opt for. If you take a hostel room the fee of that would be higher if u opt for campus mess then you have to pay for that. But the course fee is same for everyone i.e. 3,80,000(avg). There are scholarship options but I haven't ventured much into that. Currently I am just a second year student so I haven't been exposed to any employement opportunities but soon I will be applying for them based on my skills and need.
Campus Life
Overall campus life is great. There is learning and there is extra curriculum activities. Like dance, drama, sports, music, festivities and college fests. I am a part of three clubs called GDSC, Wordsmith and KFS(KIIT FILM SOCIETY). We have multiple societies that a kid an apply to. There are a lot of opportunities for participation as well.
Admission
Yes, there was an entrance exam and there was a cut -off which I did make through. The cut-off was for the specific branch you get to choose and I opted for CSE. The examination level was I would say medium hard and not as tough as JEE. The admission process was smooth and the office staff were quite helpful. There are reservation benefits but I haven't ventured much into that. Everything regarding the admission process could be noted down from the website itself (kiit.ac.in). The one thing I would like for to improve in admission process is the acess hours and option for online process management.
Faculty
There are almost 90 kids for a single teacher to teach and evaluate answer sheets and a single teacher could almost have 4 different sections under him. The student to teacher ratio according tk me is a lot but its manageable. The faculty is bery helpful as and whenever you ask doubts they are ready to clear them. But their approach to teaching could improve a bit. We can approach our teacher very frequently but apart from studies there is no other reason to approach them to as they cant be mentoring.
Other Applied Colleges
Siksha 'O' Anusandhan University - [SOA] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Because I didn’t like their campus more and the placement opportunities are better at my current college.
