My college review- [KIIT], Bhubaneswar

Positive: A lot of exposure to the external environment. The diversity factor is high. Negative: The fees are quite high. But the things they would be providing are worth it. Lastly, a great salute to the KIIT TnP.

The course curriculum is good. The exams are conducted on regular basis and the labs and classes are perfect. The classes are so designed that you will be building a regular workshop when you get a job after your degree.

Placements for computer science and electronics branches are excellent. They provide job internships as well as PPOs to them. For the core branches, the jobs rates are quite low and the early opportunities for an internship are negligible.

Kiit fest is the main central event conducted in the university. This fest is famous all over India. It is conducted every year and all universities and colleges are invited to take part in it. More events like kriarth, kolesseum, and koros are conducted.

It is expensive. We are paying 16 lacs for 4 years. The semester fees are too high. It is 1.5 lac per semester. And the mess charge is 15,000 per semester. Hostel charges are also applicable. It is 15000-16000 per semester.

Till date, I have no idea of the scholarship they are providing or any scholarships they are accepting. But I have heard about the loan facilities. They are quite liberal in this case. The weaker section gets some advantage.

Our university is the best among the extracurricular activities. The gender ratio is the same. There is Diversity on the campuses. Each and every festival is celebrated on the campus. We have a student activity center Known as KSAC.

As my house is 300 km from the University, so I opted for hostel facilities. I have been living in the hostel for 4 years. The fooding is good as compared to other universities. They actually listen to what you want to eat. You are getting 24*7 electricity and water availability.

The seniors used to suggest we go to the classes daily as they are missing those days. They extremely become nostalgic when they speak about their college days. Though they are in a good position they never criticize the college.

I got through the KIITEE examination that is conducted by the university every year. I secured a rank of around 8000, all over India. As I was of the general category, I was asked to come for the admission and selection of the subject on the 3rd day. The first 2 days were for the girls and sc/st candidates. So this is the way I got selected. And I chose electrical as my branch.

Most of the faculties are like your family members. They would rectify you at the point where you are wrong. They are student-friendly and highly motivated persons. They are always ready to help you at any time you required them.
