Remarks
I Feel blessed to be a part of this university and dont have any negative remarks as of yet.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course and Curriculum, I won't say that they completely modernized and industry demand based but hey this is the problem colleges all over India face. Thouroughout the college life in this university one would always remain chilled and will get ample time to develop co curricular activities. Exams are moderate, one can just pass by studying a night before
Placement Experience
Placement is very good, many companies come for the placement. Salary depends on the skill of the student. Some even get around 40lpa while most get 3-4 lpa. Internship culture is gradually increasing, earlier college wasn't providing but nowadays good companies do come picking few bright students.
College Events
No college can beat KIIT in terms of holding events. Every week there would be at least 2 big events apart from the flashmobs organized by students. Apart from the main KIIT fest there are multiple Technical, Cultural and Management Festivals every month. All schools conduct their own fest. Due to Dr Achyuta Samanta many international level competitions and conferences also happen. Like example Khelo India University Games and Computer Society of India Conference, both this year's just first half.
Fee Structure And Facilities
A bit high. But still it's worth it. Per semester tuition fees is 175000/-. Per semester Hostel varies from 50000 to 100000 depending on type of room. Mess per semester is 17500/- And if you consider all other Miscellaneous charges then keep in mind it would cost you around 20 to 23 lakhs. Also they take 75000 during admission.
Fees and Financial Aid
Loan are available by almost all of the banks. But mostly students prefer HDFC banks loan it has slightly less rate of interest. Scholarships their are plenty of them available but the best one is the all the semester toppers of each branch get scholarship though a nominal value but its prestigious. Few poor students study at free of cost at KIIT.
Campus Life
There are plenty of extracurricular activities available. There are many Societies in the campus. We also have a dedicated building call KSAC i.e. student activity center. Labs are world class. Girls to Boys ratio is 6:5 perhaps the only college in India to have majority of girls in co-ed college. Kiit is very diversified having students of all ethnicity, race, religion and economic status.
Alumni/Alumna
As I'm in many first year I don't know much about this. But I have heard that they are very helpful. We do have an alumni network. Around 6000 students from engineering itself graduate every year so it very strong.
Admission
KIIT University is a world class educational hub which not only has students from the corners of our country but also around the globe international students. It is headed by a visionary founder who is very kind hearted, efficient yet extremely simple, Dr Achyuta Samanta. I personally was inclined towards this college because of its world wide reputation, state of the art infrastructure and never the less it's placement scenario also because of Dr.Samanta. It's diversified culture results in all round development of the students. First I registered through its website for the KIITEE exam. Gave the entrance test on the asked date. It was not very difficult and mostly focused on aptitude based questions. Then I received a mail to come for counseling. On the counseling day I was given branch based upon my rank in KIITEE.
Faculty
Some Faculty are very good but not all. Since I'm in my first year so I don't know much about teachers from my department. As far as I know every course has at least one, if we can call, a flagship teacher, who is the best. But mostly all teachers are PhD holder. Language doesn't create a problem understanding the lectures as most of the South Indian colleges face this problem.
