Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is getting updated mostly after each batch leaves. Because the passed out students might have faced some situations where the company is in need of a particular subject knowledge and the student might not have it. In that case, they will discuss these with the department staffs and the requirements that have to be met by other students. In those cases, our department is open minded to change the curriculum for our betterment. So, the course curriculum is very useful for the changing technological world.
Fees and Financial Aid
The course fee for this course is a bit high compared to other engineering courses. However it's considered valid since this is a Master's degree. If not affordable student loans can be applied. The only drawback here is that we have to pay the fee even when we are out of the college for our 7th semester and 10th semester internships.
Campus Life
The campus life will be moderate since it is a very old institution. But our institution supports us well on our extracurricular activities also. There are clubs for sports, arts, martial arts, nature and if you look for technical clubs there are datalytics and Foss clubs that include technology and entertainment. Rotaract is one of the clubs started at the early stages. There are service clubs like Road safety patrol, National Service Scheme, Youth Red Cross, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan. The requirements of all the clubs are met properly which is a very good thing. And most of the faculty encourage and support us on our extracurriculars.
Admission
The admission process of my course ( Integrated M.Sc. in Data Science) included the cut off marks in 12th grade (only the scores of physics and maths, excluding chemistry score) and a formal one-one interview. Since I was looking for my higher education during covid time, the interview was online. The interviewer had about 15 to 20 questions ( not sure since it was 4 years back ) . The questions were mostly about physics, maths and general knowledge. The questions in maths and physics were a bit easy that included the portions of 10th and 12th old syllabus. The questions were displayed in the online meeting platform and a minute or two was given as time limit to answer each question. The course details can be found in our college's website. www.cit.edu.in There is nothing about the interview process which I don't like. The interviewer was very calm and made sure I was able to answer all questions. At first I was very nervous about the interview but then I got my admission.
