What Students Say
Likes
- The campus life is great. The student crowd also great.
- The campus is huge. It has great amenities like student sections, open lawns, ground, Auditorium.
- The faculty of every branch is very understanding and experienced.
Dislikes
- The fees are too high and not considering any economic status makes it even more difficult for all families of the society to afford the tuition fees.
- As it is a university, there are a lot of students summing up from BTech, BSc, Bcom, etc. So their availability of parking is sometimes the issue.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is great overall. All the subjects are relevant to the course and practical sessions take place everyday on a regular basis that makes students learn the subjects easily and with interest. Exams just like all colleges are in semester pattern. 2 semesters per year and 2 exams per semester, mid sem and end sem. The staff is well trained and educated and are suitable for the young generation to deal with them.
Fees and Financial Aid
I don't have much idea on the regularity of the tuition fees but I know that there's a hike once every two years. My yearly fee being 3.1 lakh per year, my overall course fee becomes 12.4 lakh for 4 years. I did get a scholarship in my first year as I scored 91% in my 12th board exams. But this eligibility criteria doesn't apply to all courses. Every course of BTech and others have their own eligibility criteria for the scholarships ranging from JEE scores to 12th scores. Our university does make great efforts for their students in terms of campus employment and internships.
Campus Life
The largest cultural fest of Pune, Aarohan, is the college fest of MITWPU. I wasn't just a volunteer but the admin of Aarohan for 2 years. That has given me a wide scope of opportunities and trained me to handle a lot of things that occur in corporate life. There are 40+ clubs in the college and is supported by the management very well. There is a dedicated 5 floor building as our library which has a vaste variety of technical books as well as novels and everything that you can expect. Our college empowers students to participate in sports and other extra curricular activities but at the same time prioritise academics as well. Many clubs in the college are completely student driven that empowers students to act independently and boost their confidence as well as experience.
Admission
I got the admission for my course in MITWPU through PERA-CET. While the exam is of the same level as of JEE, it takes place even before the JEE or CET so there are higher chances of admission through it. The cutoff was 95 percentile for my course and I scored 98.8. There was no reservation criteria for any caste or economic status. MIT provides many exams for their admission and I think it's a great thing
