What Students Say
Likes
- Campus Llfe is something to vouch for in KIIT as there are plenty of fun spots to chill. The weather is quite pleasant here and you can visit to MBA Garden and Rose Garden and you have Nandankanan Zoo and Shikharchandi Hill in close proximity.
- Sports Infrastructure is also very nice here.
Dislikes
- Fees is very high, but you cannot really blame them as they're a private college.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is typical BTech Course which is common in all the colleges of engineering even IITs and NITs. I have checked with my friend's curriculum who is in NIT and they're being taught the same subjects as us. The frequency of exams is typically 2 exams per sem, one being mid-sem and the other being endsem at the end of the semester. There is a holiday of 2 months after the spring semester and 15 days after the autumn semester. The grading here in KIIT is lenient and exams can be scored well.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tuition fees increase by around 5k rupees for every upcoming batch. The total cost of completing education here will at least cost you around 20 lakhs inclusive of all the charges as of 2024. Financial aid/scholarships are available for students under 10k rank in the KIITEE examination, making them eligible for a 10k per month scholarship from KIIT.
Campus Life
Campus life at KIIT is something I can vouch for. It has a huge 700-acre lush green open campus with numerous fun spots to chill like MBA Garden & Rose Garden. There is a 5-floor library which is fully air-conditioned and open 24x7. Every classroom is well-equipped with smart boards and centralized air conditioning. Sports at KIIT is the best you can get in this country. Many students of KIIT have represented India at a national level and brought in numerous awards. There is a court/ground for every sport possible.
Admission
KIIT also known as the Kalinga Insititute of Industrial Technology is one of the top private colleges for engineering in India. It takes admission both from JEE and KIITEE (its entrance exam), which has a cutoff of around 60%tile for the phase 1 examination which increases phase-wise. All the necessary details can be accessed via kiit.ac.in site. The fees per semester for a 4-year Btech program in KIIT as of 2024 is around 2 lacs per sem tuition fees along with hostel & mess charges which start from 50k for 3 bed non-ac and go up to 1.1lakh per sem for 2 bed ac premium.
