Course Curriculum Overview

3

In this day and age computer science field is growing so I thought that it would be wise to choose this particular course in this college. There are many placement preparation drives and training that are given to us to make the students industry ready. I think that the mode of teaching is good but it needs to be more modernised cause the rate at which the tech world is growing we need newer facilities and technologies inculcated in the curriculum.Exams are mid level difficult but sometimes students get back in large no .

Internships Opportunities

3

There are many interniship provided by the university and many training opportunities provided by the university.there were many projects that we did under the multiple trainings that we underwent during the college. And we made several projects of fullstack development in that time

Placement Experience

3

Students become eligible for campus placements when they are about to reach their final year which varies differently according to different departments . In the btech department several companies visit our college for placement such as tech rbm ., bebo technology etc.. almost 80 , percentage of students get placed and I too plan to get into a company after my degree

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees increases just one or two thousand per year for new students only.the total cost of my course including all the expenses would reach approximately 7-8 lakh Indian rupees .There are many scholarships that are made available to students from different sections of society there is scholarship for ews students and also students belonging to sc st category etc

Campus Life

3.5

There are many annual feasts and multiple feast organised throughout the year on different occasions. Our university flaunts a large and diverse Library with a wide selection of of books there are large labs and technology facilities in our campus.a good nice playground.there are manystudent run organization and clubs

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Hostel are not that good for the price the hostel facilities are outdated and not at all worthy of the price .the mess food is okayish.registration process is simple but it is quite expensive.there are good flats in near area around the college

Admission

As this is a private college there was not a specific eligibility criteria we just had to give the proof of our matriculation and just submit the fees . The application form is made available to you via the admission cell staff . There are several scholarship schemes for students which provide as much as a full fee waiver .Exams work in the semester scheme and there are 1 mid semester test and the final exam plus practicals . The admission process could have been less hassle free if there would have been a Google form to fill at the starting so we could skip the part where we made copies of our documents and gave them to the admission cell staff.

Placement Experience:

Students start becoming eligible for campus placements from the sixth semester, and that’s when most training sessions for aptitude, coding and soft skills also begin. The placement cell is active throughout the year and brings in a mix of product-based, service-based and mid-tier tech companies. The number of offers varies every year, but CSE-related branches usually get the highest share of opportunities. Companies come for roles like software trainee, analyst, QA, support engineering and web development, so there’s a good spread of entry-level roles.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

The placement of our college is good but its lack to bring big names but overall it's 3 out of 5 as it's basically focus on bringing software companies but our stream is of electronics so we donot have that much knowledge about coding so we lack to get placed this is the only disadvantage of the placement cell here

In 3rd semester a student is eligible for campus placement but it is all upto to students that they have to maintain a good cgpa and skills for interviews. In Chitkara university a good number of companies visited like Microsoft, google and they provide 100+ offerletters. 85-90 % students get placed in Chitkara university. After getting degree I firstly join to the company .

Placement Experience:

There is an option for students to opt for placements from campus in our university and if we seect that option we are given special training by the university it self in fields which we think we are weak. That include technical and non technical fields like soft skills. University also ties up with other triaining companis to train us in better way by calling tutors from outside the campus for teaching us. Over all if we consider we are already well trained by university to sit for on campus placements and we usually get a good paying job which also helps us to gain more knowledge and improve ourself.
