Course Curriculum Overview

1. Gauhati University is well known in Assam and I believed that I will get my hard work pays off here 2. The curriculum is not exactly how I expected it was, my campus is open campus but the facaliter are not good when it comes to student needs 3. Introcude various sector for internship/placement cause there are none 4. End sem are given in May and dec and the sessional are conduct with in the professor mood

Fees and Financial Aid

1. It was 26000 in odd semister and 19470(approx) in the even semister but from last year the fees is increased for the freshers it's now odd sem 28000 and even sem is 20000 2.hostel charges are 3500 yearly and mess fees is 1600 monthly 3.there is no special scholarship in the university, the only scholarship we get are which are given in NSP portal. 4. What I have seen till now is that after resession our recuiting chances now has gone to almost none, there is no well recuiter where we can get an descent salary

Campus Life

Varsity(kind of sports day) & cultural night - March Hack days(tech fest) - March Youth fest - Novembre In library the books are available for student and the genre is like limitless our library is so big. Only a smart screen is there We have indoor stadium for badminton, kabaddi, boxing etc and outdoor stadium for cricket and football We have some groups where we can join line robotics,GDSC etc

Admission

1. Cee score was needed for the admission(within 900 rank was needed for confirm admission) 2. Gauhati University official website 3. Reservation benefits are there with upto 4 seats 4. End sem are conducted in May and December and the exam level are moderate 5. The website is not optimised one, should have looked for it

Placement Experience:

The college placement aren't much in our college because our college is too deep inside the area it's like a village area companies find it difficult to come here. Companies mostly come for chemical and mechanical engineering students to hire them. For electrical and civil you have to apply off campus. I don't know the highest package from our college but the recent package that was offered by mahindra to mechanical engineering students was 19000 per month. Atleast 35% students get on campus placement. My plan after degree is to pursue mtech or maybe BFA in Seoul, South Korea or maybe find a job outside india

Placement Experience:

The placement of this university is not upto the mark. The highest package recieved by a student was 37 LPA. He was an ECE student. The average LPA is around 6-7 LPA. I think it's a bit low compared to NITs/IITs. But compared to other central and state universities its quite good.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is btech and since it is an IIT the faculty are the best in their fields profs here have done PhD from Stanfords of the world and the prof-student ratio is very healthy. Although there are a lot of exams in the ballpark weekly one or the other exam will be there and the exams are very tough but grading is relative.

Placement Experience:

You are eligible for internship placement in the 5th semester and for the full time, you're eligible for campus placement in the 7th semester. 223 offers were made for 22 pass out students. Some of the companies that visited our campus are Amazon Deloitte ZS Associates Tekion Mindtickle Gamescraft. The highest package was 61.5 lakhs and the average package was 15.34 lakhs. 95.12 per cent of students got placed. My plan after college is to work as a software developer.
