Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The curriculum is pretty outdated similar to other engineering colleges in India. There are a few valuable clubs where you can learn new industry grade equipments and technologies but academically the course is similar. The college has become autonomous now but my batch is the last batch after which the college became autonomous so for us the exam results are declared quite late and it makes life difficult for students who have supplementary exams.

Placement Experience

2

Students become eligible for placements during the 7th semester if they have no pending backlogs or supplementaries. Some of the companies that visit the college for recruitment include TCS, Infosys, UST Global, Accenture etc.The average package usually goes around 3 - 3.5 LPA but some students manage to get jobs offering packages worth 20+ LPA but that is very rare. On average 40-50% students get placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tuition fee is same for all students till now for management as well as Government merit quota students. Scholarships are given based on 12th std marks and also based on KEAM ranks. Also toppers in each semester or top scorers get a good scholarship. I am in my 4th semester so placements drives are not yet there for us.

Campus Life

2

Only one annual cultural fest is held in the college "Azure". Its a 2-3 day event where many cultural activities take place including Battle of Bands and the pro show where celebrities or popular group or bands perform. Extra curricular activities are there but not promoted much. Academics are prioritized strictly so that is a bummer. There are various clubs that you can join including Robotics, drones etc. There is also a AICTE funded IDEA Lab where students can use and learn 3D printers and laser engravers and other new technologies. There is also a TBI in the college campus which helps students for their own startup companies and helps them with funding and other technical assistances.

Hostel Facilities

3

Rooms have wifi(not all rooms get good wifi speeds though). By default everyone is alloted a triple sharing room. People can opt for single rooms, double rooms and 4 sharing rooms as well. Cell phone reception in most rooms is very bad. Meals are just average. Breakfast is terrible especially. Laundry service is provided. Every year you move into new rooms and the process is quite seamless. Electrical and other complaints are very delayed in getting fixed. The hostel is very strict with timings and even the slightest of mistakes can get you writing apology letters to the hostel directors. The level of freedom compared to north indian college hostels is very little and nightlife in the college and hostel is basically none.

Admission

Admission process was simple. I was a management quota student so I had to fill out my marks and details on the admission page and a ranklist was created according to which students were called on a particular date to come and submit there documents. Management and Government merit seat fees are same

As seniors said the average package is around 10lpa.If you have descent skills and above 8 cgpa you will get this average package. If you upskill yourself with effort which many students do here then you can also get above 15lpa which many seniors got.The highest package was off-campus by an ECE Student in Google despite having cgpa around 6.He had very good skills as a full stack developer.

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester and internship from 3rd semester. You can apply for internship on your own right from first semester but college gives aid from 3rd semester. The major recruiter is ISRO which offers 40-45 jobs for aerospace engineering. Also other companies like CDac Airbus Boeing and DRDO and HAL visit for recruitment. Nearly 85-90% students get placed while some opt for Higher education and research too. My primary goal is to get into ISRO also I will be preparing for gate examination to complete my IIT dream.
