Likes

Library atmosphere and facilities they provide.
All the professors are highly qualified.
Clubs are the best and many tournaments are organised by seniors.

Dislikes

Mess food is the worst i can think about in many hostel except senior hostels.
Restriction in 1st year because our colledge is afraid of ragging.
No big tourist place to visit on off days.

I chose biotech branch and it has a good scope in india and in foreign as well. World is moving towards bio war and now biotechnocians has greater opportunity to serve this world. We need to promote this branch and india should provide more jobs. In nit durgapur proffesors usually give GATE questions.

Internships Opportunities

Internship opportunities ate quite decent. People go on internship in 2nd year as well. You can do internship in core as well as in circuital branches as well. Internship will help to impress the interviewer through your cv as you can mention about internships in your cv.

Placement Experience

For internship you are eligible from 2nd year only. Many multinational companies visit here. Off campus placement are very good here. Highest package in campus -70 lakh and average package is around -13.64. In 2022 placement was around 85% I think. My plans are to get placement after my graduation in my branch only.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution fees is decent and if you are under 5 lakh then they will return your 2/3rd money tution fees. If you are under 1lakh then they will not charge you tution fees. Complete cost for my graduation may be around 8 lakhs. Institute provides medical insurance as well to all the students.

Campus Life

Annual fest :- AAROHAN tech fest:- REXTECY LIBRARY HAS A GOOD ENVIRONMENT AND FACILITIES. TEACHERS TEACH ON DIGITAL BOARD USALLY. INSTITUTE NEED TO FOCUS ON SPORTS FACILITIES IN MORE DOMAINS. THERE ARE MULTIPEL TECHNICAL AND CULTURAL GROUPS.

Hostel Facilities

Rooms are quite big. Mess in hostel 11 is not quite good. But government mess in hall 1, hall2 , hall3 are the best. Hall 11 does not have tasty meal usually but some days it tastes good. Registration process is quite easy you come here you will get inducted easly.

Hostel Fee: INR 17000 per year

Admission

I entered in this colledge through josaa and csab councelling. It cost me around 36000 for josaa and 4000 for csab councelling. It took me around 45 days to go through this process. The cutoff of Biotechnology in round 1 over biotechnology was around 60000 f9r general category male outside state student. My course is gone last till 2027. Documents can collected through josaa and csab site itself. The colledge does make good question paper. Exams takes place after every 45-50 days. No such improvement is needed because it is basically 90% online based process.

Reality of Jis college of engineering

Placement Experience:

The students get eligible at 3rd year 6th sem. Though before that you can do internship or freelancing which will increase the weight of your profile. The percentage of student getting placement is around 60-70% and the average package is around 4-5lakhs per annum. The highest package got by a student previous year was around ?10lakhs per annum.

Remarks:

Provide decent jobs to most students. Faculties are helpful and teach well. You can issue 3 books at a time from the library once your library card is made. Classes are held to enhance your communication skills. A lot of items in the canteen and cafeteria. No ragging. There is no ground to play. Very strict rules, has a lot of restrictions. Most students call it a jail, cause you cannot bunk classes. But believe me, it will shape you into a good human being and you will also get placed if you put your effort. Best of luck for your college life.

Very unique B.Tech Stream after 12th

Remarks:

Passing marks is 50%. That is quite tough and there are no negative points. The stream is bio based stream though it is an engineering course. The faculties are good, the placement is near about 100% in colleges.

A place for freedom and ideas

Remarks:

Positive: provides an atmosphere for free thinking to pursue one's dream and subject. One can study in one stream and study other non-related subjects to stream without any hassle. The academic pressure is minimal. Negatives: needs more outreach for a university of this standard.

Suggestions for selecting good choice

The factors that made me to choose this Institute is the infrastructure and location of the institute and also the placement statistics. Perspective's View

I got this in josaa counselling and it turned out to be pretty good.The admission process was smooth in the online way also I have asked from seniors, it was quite the same for offline as well.The coding and development environment of the college is quite helpful and has emerged. Seniors aren't that helpful but will make you learn a lot. The co curricular activities are extra ordinary and will make you occupied for whole of the college duration and also would develop your overall personality. The faculty here is involved in researches which was the main factors I chose this college. NIT Durgapur - Brief tour.

NIT DURGAPUR is the 6th NIT in India with very good placement programs. The college is located in a proper area with a very good environment. I applied for JOSAA (October 2020) counselling but didn't get any seats in any NIT. NIT DURGAPUR has reserved seats for the students of my place i.e Andaman and Nicobar Islands. It provides 47 seats for the students from Andaman although the admission holds too late. I joined the college on 21st December 2020 but the classes were already started a few weeks back. Since we were attending classes online it was a bit difficult for me to catch up with syllabus.
