Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Physics and Computer science are subjects of my liking and naturally this course at DU enculcates suitable syllabus and curriculum for the same. Curriculum is well executed by the faculties although holistic development is the part where a student has to work by himself/herself. Some vocational/educational tours should be conducted for bsc students as well in Delhi itself. The exams are conducted well on time and difficulty is fair enough to strike the very core of knowledge and perseverance of the student.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution fees is in accordance to University grant commission and DU , and a certain hike of 500+ rupees is scene every semester. Almost around 1lack ( tution fees + semester examination fees inclusive) Student aid fund is available once a year which is from 4000 to 8000 INR Not taken a job. Only the president of the debating society at Rajdhani college. DU colleges offer good cash rewards in competitions.

Campus Life

2.5

All societies conduct events regularly during the whole academic year. Each society also conducts annual events. The college itself conducts a two day annual fest where competitions, foodings , games , EDM night and Star night takes place . The annual fest and annual day takes place in April and annual sports meet in March. Books aren't updated The classrooms are outdated and not renovated. Sports is taken good care of with proper playing facilities. Extra curricular is the charm of any of the colleges of DU ! ABVP is the well organised and pro working students group .

Admission

The course is well designed to cover each component of the physical science domain i.e. fundamental Physics (from mechanics to quantum) and it enhances the selected domain such as chemistry or computer science or electronics as per selected by the student. Sights such as College Duniya and few other visible sights give you certain ideas about when the forms will be released and what are the perks of college and the course. Application fees was around 600 as I didn't have to appear for cuet but now things are a bit different, fees is charged as per New Education policy and NTA guidelines. The forms for cuet UG is available in the month of March in 2024. Didn't take any reservation benifits. DU conducts the exams on semester basis with a level above moderate to moderate. Admissions should have at Max a GD or at least PI . Precarious admission process leads to unecessary crowd enterring into colleges, creating chaos later.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is too good. As my course is life sciences so instead of learning about only one core subject like in botany hons and zoology hons course, we get chance to learn about zoology, botany and chemistry simultaneously. That Also unlock a large no. of opportunities for my future. Acc to me the ratio of practical lab and theory classes should be increased like we only get 1 lab for one core subjects in a week so I think this no. Should be increased so that we can get more practical knowledge. The difficulty level of exams are too much High like it seems we're hons course students that should be decreased.

Placement Experience:

Placements in IGNOU are quite limited compared to regular universities. Since IGNOU is an open and distance learning university, it does not have a strong campus placement system like DU or private colleges. There is a Campus Placement Cell (CPC) that conducts job fairs and recruitment drives at some regional centers, but these are not very frequent and mostly depend on the location. Usually, students who are in their final year or have completed the course can apply, but there is no fixed semester rule since the system is flexible. The companies that visit are not very large in number and vary every year. Some private firms, NGOs, BPOs, insurance companies, and small IT firms have participated in the past. The roles are generally entry-level such as sales, customer support, data entry, insurance advisor, or junior IT support. There are very limited opportunities for core mathematics or research roles through placements. As far as packages are concerned, the average package is usually around ?2.5 LPA to ?4 LPA, but since IGNOU is an open university, it cannot be expected to have the same placement levels as regular colleges with full-time classes. Also, the percentage of students placed is very small because most IGNOU students are either working professionals, homemakers, or people preparing for competitive exams, so placements are not the main focus. Many students use the degree as a qualification while pursuing their own career path outside. I am currently in my 2nd year, so I do not have personal placement experience yet. The data I have mentioned here is based on internet sources and feedback from other IGNOU students. From what I have learned, placements exist but are very limited, and one should not rely only on them for career building.

Campus placements are for commerce background mostly, usually in 3rd year you might see some placements. I don't know exactly about thr company who visited because I wasn't enrolled in that particular course. Campus placements percentage is very low to be honest . 10-20% mostly. I'll pursue masters.
