Doing B.Tech in any stream is itself one of the toughest courses to do. But the ones who are eager to take challenges in life and want to improve by doing so always love accepting the challenges that come in front of them. After completing B.Tech you will be an engineer who has graduated from an institute of National importance. The academics of B.Tech will let you solve every technical, and non-technical problems because as an engineer your main motto of life will always be to ease the complexity of life through machines, and technologies. In the process, you will tackle many problems, find their solutions and be able to contribute to society. However, it's not only about practical applications in college, you need to mug up a lot of theory before exams and vomit it during exams. Also, there were uncountable assignments you will write for 4 years which is a little laborious for us. After completing 4 years of engineering,it is certain that you will find yourself in a much better position.

The college's placement cell often facilitates internships by collaborating with companies and organizations that offer internship programs suitable for students. NIT Durgapur have partnerships with industries and companies that regularly offer internships to students. These partnerships can provide students with access to a diverse range of internship opportunities. The companies that commonly offer internship opportunities to students in various fields are Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Infosys, Wipro, IBM, Capgemini, Larsen & Toubro (L&T), Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) Bosch Siemens Accenture Everyone with a good cgpa and skill set get a chance to do internship in their third year of BTech.

NIT Durgapur generally sees campus placements starting from the 7th semester for undergraduate students and the 3rd semester for postgraduate students.Also,here you will get an opportunity of- Internships: Students can pursue internships during their course to gain practical experience and enhance their employability. Placements here are good for branches like CS,ECE,EE and Metallurgy.In CS particular, average package is more than 16 lakhs. The overall average package is around 10 lakhs with a maximum of around 50 lakhs.Around 85% of the students get placed who are willing to get placed.I will prepare for UPSC.

The tuition fee of NITs are cheaper than other private engineering colleges which charges you a lot.For candidates who are not availing any sort of fee waivers have to pay around 8lakh for the whole course.But being a government college you will get scholarship if you are a SC/ST or from a family whose family income is less than 1 lakh,in all those cases you will get a complete waiver of tuition fee and you have to pay a mere amount for Hostel and other things like library.Also if your family income is less than 5 lakh and greater than 1 lakh then you will get a remission of 2/3 of the tution fee. Also for financial weaker students many organisations provide a lot of scholarship options about which you will get notified in the college itself.Also, being a government college it is not like that they are increasing their fee exponentially every year.It remains almost same for long period of time.

In our NIT Durgapur,we have two fests every year.One is AAROHAN, second largest tech fest of eastern India and the other is RECSTACY,the cultural fest of our college.AAROHAN and RECSTACY both happen in the months of March and April generally.You will enjoy these fests a lot.Any word can't make you feel the level of enjoyment you will get after attending these fests.Many clubs organise these fests,you can either participate or enjoy as a audience.NIT Durgapur has max number of clubs among all NITs.NIT Durgapur has a central Library which has sufficient number of books to let you pass your college.Our classrooms are fully air conditioned having a black board and projector.You will get big classrooms and also the strength is less(like 120s),so you will not face any suffocation there.There will be lot of vacant spaces in the classroom.We have two playgrounds Ovals and Lords,games like Football, Cricket, Kabaddi and many more you can play there.Our college also host InterNIT sports there.

Every year you will be allotted different halls.For first two years you will be either in Hall 11 or Hall 14 or both.For the first two years you will enjoy the hostel rooms and mess food a lot.You will be allotted shared rooms with 3 persons which might make you uncomfortable if you are reading this but believe me you are going to love the shared rooms.You will get friends from the different parts of the country as smart as you.And you will learn a lot during your conversation with them.Since our college is in bengal,if you are a non-veg and particularly a fish eater then this is a heaven for you.Almost every day they will give you fish either in lunch or dinner.If you are a vegetarian then you might get bored of Paneer.But they try to keep things interesting for you also by making different items of Paneer.Also you will get many special diets in a week.If you get bored than there are many canteens within the campus and many stalls outside the campus also.So don't worry about the food.

Everyone who has chosen Maths and Physics in Class 12th and cleared class 12th with 75% or above is eligible to seat in Joint Entrance Exam Main(JEE Main) which is the gateway to enter in premium institute of India,NITs and also if you qualify JEE Main,you will get a chance to seat in JEE Advanced which is mainly for IITs.Every year there are two attempts in JEE Main in the months of January and April generally.Best of your two scores will be considered for the final Merit.You will get notified about this on NTA JEE main official website.It will be a CBT MCQ type exam with negative marking.You can check the latest pattern and sample paper on the official website.You can give JEE Main exam as a appearing 12th candidate for the first time and you can take maximum of 2 drops in successive years if you fail to clear the exam.If you are a general candidate then you have to be in top 25k among 12lakh+ candidates to get entry in good NIT colleges like NIT Durgapur.
