Campus Life

The college hosts four main festivals annually: Nitrutsav, a cultural fest organized by the Film and Music Society in February; Innovision, a technical fest organized by the Technical Society in November; and Cosmopolitan, a multiethnic fest in January. The library boasts a comprehensive collection, including competitive exam books like UPSC and GATE materials. Classrooms are equipped with projectors and smart boards for enhanced learning experiences.

Hostel Facilities

The campus provides eight boys' hostels named SSB, MV, DBA, GDB, HB, VS, SD, MSS, and three girls' hostels named CVR, KMS, BF, all located within the campus premises. These hostels are well-maintained and double-occupied, offering basic amenities like internet, fan, light, bed, table, and chair. Clean bathrooms and washing machine facilities are available, with daily cleaning services provided.

Admission

The admission process primarily revolved around qualifying the JEE Mains exam, with application fees set at 650 for general and OBC candidates, and 150 for SC/ST applicants. Application windows typically opened around January and April. Reservation benefits were extended based on caste (SC/ST) and income levels. SC/ST candidates and those with an income below 1 lakh per annum were exempt from tuition fees. Additionally, individuals with incomes ranging from 1 to 5 lakh received a 75% fee waiver.

Placements are quite good. Thats precisely why i chose this college . The highest offer last year was 52 lpa . Other than that average package is 6 to 8 lpa for cse students . Mostly all students get placed . A few companies that come for placements are Infosys, TCS , JP Morgan , Deloitte , Bookings holidays , Cognizant, Accenture .

After 3rd semester the students are eligible for internship but after 4th sem the students are eligible for Plecement. More the 95% students get the placements. Highest package is aprox Rs.4300000 and lowest is 300000. My plan is for higher studies after getting degree.

ITER SOA is quite intimidating!!

Placement Experience:

IBM, Siemens, Philips and many other companies and even the chio makers and computer makers are also one of the main share holders in placements. For CSE department the average placements are of 15-20 lakhs but for our department the average drops down to 6 lakhs per annum.

Honest and Genuine review of NIT Rourkela

So I choose these college over the others because of its relevant name and the hype of this college In India as It is Institute of national importance And also a government backed college and it is one of the most demanded college. So the colleges which I have applied to are DTU, NSUT, Nit Trichy, Nit Warangal, Nit Surat Kal And top 7 iits. No I was not rejected from the other college which I have applied to but the combination of branching and the college value Doesn't satisfied me for taking admission in that colleges. So the admission process for the Nit Rourkela Is that the eligibility criteria is 75% in 12th class And second criteria is to clear the entrance exam which is the JEE mains and also scoring a very good marks in it. Then by the centralised Josaa Counselling student will fill their choices ,lock and get allotments in the upcoming rounds of the josaa counselling. The ending rank to take admission in this college in the EC branch is about a 6000-7000 rank in the jee mains exam for the other state people. Everything about NIT ROURKELA ( campus life, placements, fees )

The best aspects of the college is the campus. It's the second largest campus in India. A lush green campus with a very good mess facilities. The buildings are great. Hostels are also good. Evrything about infrastructure was a plus point. Only negative point is the non availability of airport due to which some companies refuse to come a pick students.
