Campus Life
Campus life at IIM Kashipur is vibrant and student-driven, with a diverse range of events organized throughout the year. From celebrating various festivals to creating our own events, we uphold the traditions set by our seniors. Our annual fest, AGNITRAYA X, is a highlight, featuring performances by renowned artists like Nikhil D'Souza and Yash Rathee. Additionally, with 42 student bodies on campus, including clubs, committees, and cells, there's ample opportunity for students to engage in various activities and gain positions of responsibility, enhancing their resumes.
Hostel Facilities
Regarding hostel facilities, IIM Kashipur boasts top-notch infrastructure with seven hostels, each featuring four blocks. There are separate hostels for girls and boys, with almost co-ed facilities in the boys' hostels. Each hostel block is equipped with washing machines, water purifiers, microwaves, and dryers in the common rooms on every floor. Hostel fees are inclusive of the academic fee, and accommodation.
Admission
The CAT exam is the key to unlocking doors to prestigious MBA programmes, particularly at renowned institutions like the IIMs. Its not just about scoring well overall but also meeting specific cutoffs in each section which can be quite challenging. As in my case, it was 92%ile overall and the 70 %ile in each section. Then the interview process takes place, part of CAP Process which is intense, covering a wide range of topics from current affairs to personal goals and hobbies. It is clear that the difficulty of exam is on the rise and interviews are becoming more focused on knowledge and personality. However, there is a lingering question about the heavy emphasis on past academic performance. It seems a bit outdated considering how people evolved and develop skills over time. While CAT exam remains crucial for academic and professional pursuits, there's room for a more holistic approach to evaluating candidates, one that considered their current capabilities and potential.
Interview Experience
For the CAT 2022 admission process, group discussions were not included. Instead, candidates underwent a personal interview lasting 15-20 minutes, conducted online through CAP. The interview, held in online mode with two panelists, covered topics such as general awareness, work experience, and academic profile. When it comes to preparation, there aren't any strict guidelines or procedures for the GD/PI process. However, candidates are advised to refresh their academic knowledge, stay updated on general awareness topics, and be prepared to discuss their work experience and HR-related questions during the interview.
