Course Curriculum Overview

3

Engineering was my go to platform. I enjoyed engineering basics in class and wanted to study it further and had interest in modern technology. So I chose to choose engineering as my carrier. The course does include many labs and projects, by which one can experience many applications in real-world. And any one can get benifited by these subjects and get honed with many skills. The course curriculum should include personal interaction with a mentor once a while, which would greatly enhance a student's quality and help him in mastering the skills in which he has the most capability. The exams are taken on perfect time periods and difficulty level is on par with everyone's capability, but the evaluation of exam sheets may not be as right as it should be.

Internships Opportunities

4

Comanies like Tata, Jio, BSNL, airtel, etc provide internships in the college with great stipend amount. I am not eligible enough to give an answer about projects but it helps in building up experience before joing a company.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placements in our college is quite good. Students get elegible for campus placements from 7th semester. Companies like google, amazon, wipro, infoysis, Tata, samsung visit every year. The highest package provided to a student was from google for an amount of 52 lpa for IT sector. Percentage of students getting placements varies from branch to branch. Highest among is ECE with a rate of 100% of placements of registered students and CSE for the best average package of 19 lpa. My plan after getting the degree is to get a good placement from the college.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure includes 75000 rupees for a semester of tution fee and 26600 rupees for mess and hostel fee along with other fees. The tution fee gets decreased on every semester little by little. Tution fee increase policy is going to be headache for those of the lower sections of the society. The complete cost my education can range from 7.8 lakhs to 8.2 lakhs depending upon the tution fee increment/decrement on every semester including tution fees, hostel fees, mess fees and other service fees. Many scholarships including Ishan uday, north-eastern scholarship, post matriculation scholarship etc. are available in our college whose amount vary from 20000 a year to 800000 a year. I have not undertaken any such campus employment.

Campus Life

4

The college arranges two annual fests in major succesion. This include Moksha, the cultural fest, and Aayam, the tech fest. The college also arranges many more small fests every month or so. Moksha is generally held on september to october and Aayam is generally held on january to february. The campus library is one of the biggest library in the whole northeast, and consists of many books of a number of topics ranging from B.Tech to MBA topics. Classrooms provide many facilites such as projectors for complete visualisation of the topic and many other equipments for helping the students to understand their topic. The sports and extracurricular section of the campus is very good to be true. Cricket as well as football tournaments are held every now and then. Also many other sports like volleyball, badminton, basketball etc. are played everyday. There are many clubs in the college campus run by the students including music club, drama club, and literary club enabling great improvement.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Hostel facility is quite good in 1st year and room is provided two beds along with a wardrobe. Mess meals can be good in dinner, but the lunch is not that great in 1st year to be honest. Other messes are quite good in this aspect. Registration process is simple and is affordable for most of the people. The locality is quite backward and can not provide substantial resources from the go. And the student would've to go a bit far to get the resources.

Admission

The course is eligible for every student which has passed the CBSE class 12 board exam with a percentage of more than 75% and secured a certain percentile to claim a college of his or her own choice. There is no such application form for this college, one has to appear in the JEE and secure a certain cutoff mark to take admission in this college. I got admitted in this college through homestate quota and got a better branch than any other state student, who scored similar or more marks than me. The JEE is organised two times every year, and one can appear on both exams and get admission with the higher secured score. The exam is moderately difficult, and one has to practice questions regularly and study extra hours to get good marks in this exam. The admission process is quite good in a sense, and I am not able to find out any such major areas to improve on.

Placement Experience:

Placements in NIT Agartala are actually decent, especially for the top branches like CSE, IT, ECE, Mechanical, and Electrical. Every year many companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, L&T, Capgemini, Deloitte, Microsoft, etc. visit the campus. The average package is around 7–8 LPA for CSE/ECE, while core branches get slightly lower, and the highest goes up to 40+ LPA in some years. For other branches like Civil, Chemical, and Production, the placements are a bit lower, but students still manage through campus plus off-campus drives. What I like is that the placement cell is active, and we also get internship opportunities in our 3rd year which help us prepare.
