Exploring Excellence: A Review of NIT Durgapur

In first year basic things are taught.From 2nd year subjects related to your course is taught. Here in 1st year students are divided into two groups.Each group has 4 sections and each section consists of approx 120 students. There are 6 theory subjects and 3 lab in first semester for Group 1 students and 5 theory subjects and 3 lab and 1 extra curricular activities for Group 2 students.In 2nd semester there are 4 theory subjects and 3 lab and 1 extra curricular activities for group 1 students and 5 theory subjects and 3 lab for group 2 students. Here the faculties are very friendly there teaching methods are overall good also they are well qualified. The curriculum in first year is also not so difficult.

Internship opportunities are offered here. Companies like Intel,HCL-Sankalp provides internship opportunities. Also IISC profides internship opportunities.Good amount of stipend is provided.From 3rd year students can apply for internship opportunities.

The overall placement is good. Placement percentage is 84.66 with average package 13.62LPA.Almost 187 companies visted in the year 2023 with total 746 offers. The highest package in 2023 was 70LPA. Computer science Engineering has the highest placement package in the year 2023. MME has the highest placement percentage in the year 2023.Many students also received double and triple jobs. My plans after getting degree is opting for higher education.

Fees can be found in thier official website. Tution fees for general candidates is 62500. It gets reduced for candidates having annual income less than 5lacs. Excluding all remission the approximate college fees for 4 years is around 6.5lacs and hostel fees is 19000 per semester. Also scholarships and educational loans are also available.Many educational loans are available. The average package for 2023 batch was aprrox 13.62LPA.Also many companies visit here.

The campus of NIT Durgapur is approx 180 acres.It has a good infrastructure. There are many clubs, societies which can help students to learn and know about their passions.These clubs also conducts many events. Annual and technical fests include Aarohan, Recstacy. In Nit Durgapur there is a Central Library which has a huge number of books also it gives access to many ebooks. The classrooms are quite large and has many facilities like projectors,Central Ac,speakers and single desks. There are two grounds those are quite big and many games and extra curricular activities are also entertained.

Each room is shared by three students with three single beds ,three desks and three wardrobes.Each room has three single light. Wifi is available inside the hostel. There is mess inside the hostel and good quality of food is given. Three meals are given in a day.Also our hostel has water filters. After online admission physical reporting is to be done in the hostel. Each floor has ten bathrooms and bathrooms are cleaned everyday. Our hostel also has 4 badminton courts,1 basketball court and one vollyball court.

Entrance exam-JEE MAINS Counseling procedure via JOSAA or CSAB. JEE Mains is conducted twice in a year with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects.Time duration for jee mains is 3 hours and test is conducted in CBT mode with MCQs and Numerical value type questions.The total marks for jee mains is 300.The application for Jee Mains 2024 can be found in their official website ( https://jeemain.nta.ac.in/ ) and the application fees is 1000 for each session (General Category). I was allotted Nit Durgapur via Counseling, then everything was informed to me via my email. The admission procedure for NIT Durgapur is online but for hostel allotment Physical reporting is needed. For hostel allotment 3 days was given. After that classes were started.
