What Students Say

Likes

I like the nature and surroundings especially a sunset point is there for our relaxation.
Teachers are supportive and department infrastructure and teaching methods are too good.
Internships, dissertation and field trips are included in the syllabus. It's good for students. So our syllabus also good.

Dislikes

Hostel facilities and mess food. Especially toilet facilities.
Health centre and ambulance services too bad. Doctors are not responsible at all. There is no lady nurse at the night time. Ambulance driver is very rude towards students.
Employees of different sections behaves rudely. Like library, dsw officers etc. And electric vehicles are there for students but they are not servicing for us.

Course Curriculum Overview

Geology is the study of the earth and its interior. It's a vast area of study. Many fields are there like Mineral science, geochemistry, structural geology, geomorphology, palaeontology, petrology, climatology, hydrogeology, environmental geology, ore geology, mining geology, exploration geology, remote sensing and GIS techniques etc

Class Size: 33Course Fees: INR 21000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees depend on the subject and the category. SC / ST students have some fee reduction and also Karnataka state students especially HKR region students have some benefits. Scholarship will be available based on the students category and all. Like I got Indira Gandhi national single girl child scholarship. There is no placement in our department.

Campus Life

University main festival is Ankur. It's mainly focused on sports and other cultural and innovations. Central library is working Monday to Friday 9.30-5. Other department festivals and some clubs are there like NSS.

Hostel Facilities

Hostels are two tin sheds and 6 concrete building hostels. I got a tin shed. One room and 4 people. Common bathroom and toilet for all students. Not all are properly working. Food is sometimes not good. No mess-out options for hostellers.

Hostel Fee: INR 30000 per year

Admission

Plus two science is eligibility. We have to take the CUET entrance exam. That is central universities conducting examinations. The cutoff will be based on the marks. A negative mark will be there. The entrance exam is based on general knowledge, mental ability, numerical ability, current affairs, logical and analytical reasoning etc.

Our particular course dint had any placement drives. But now, from this year they do have for M.Sc. DAN students too. I think its a good move. Other culinary department students had 100% placements as claimed by the University. After getting degree i am interested in pursuing my Ph.D.
