Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum of DTU is very good, especially for core branches. The syllabus matches with syllabus of competitive exams like GATE,ESE. The syllabus is very technical and provides in depth knowledge of the subject. Also know after new education policy, the curriculum of first has been changed, earlier there was a common syllabus, but know they study subjects related to their branches. In mechanical engineering you do practical along with the theory classes, so you get a good knowledge of the subjecgt. Also the faculty is very good they work experience in industries and also work with various government projects. There is a semester system in which you have to give mid term examination and at last End term examination. The level of quations asked in exmaination is quite high, so one needs to prepare accordingly.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Companies start coming from the begining of your third year for internships, so be prepared. If you are from a tech bran (COE, IT, SE, MAC) then you must be very prepared sincegrat MNCs like Google, Amazon, Spriklr comes first with a salary of 1 lakh per month in internship. If you have good skills and aptitude, then you might clear the interview. Also do some good projects before applying, so that you have a better resume. Many companies also come for no tech roles like business analyst, product analyst or research analyst. If you know python, excel and sql then you can easily get an intern there. For core branches their CGPA matters a lot and companies comne a bit late. You mut have good projects and published research paers if possible. students can also apply off campus for internships also.

Placement Experience

4

For B tech students : Placements in DTU are rising annualy. Highest packeges offered to tech branches (like Coe,IT,SE,MAC) around 82 lpa and 1.2 cr ( international), whereas the avergae package is around 25 lpa for the above branches. While in core branches (like ME, EE, CE , PE ) the annual package varies from 7 to 11 lpa. Out of 1600 ( approximately) 1450 ( approx ) were placed, whereas rest of the students go for higher studies or prepare for exams like CATE, GATE, UPSC , CDS etc. My plane is also to take placement in a core branch gain some experience and then apply for other companies.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees in DTU is quite high for year 2022-2023 it was rupees 2,29,000 ( Two lakhs twenty nine thousand rupees ) for all ( 1st to 4th year students )and increases by 10% annually. Students can get education loan from DTU SBI with an annual intersest rate varying 9% to 10% . Also there afre schilarships also Delhi merit cum means scholarship with concession in tutuion fee only. Students with ration card ( annual family income less than 1 lakh) will get 100% tution fee, students having annual family income between 1-2 lakh will get 50% tution fees anf 2-2.5 lakh will get 25% tution fees. DTU fee concession is also there in which you have to form a fill on website of dtu and submit your annual passbook transactions and electricity bills. Post-metric scholarship scheme for Sc/ST students.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life at DTU is awsome if you are a hostler, you can participate in various events like inter hostel sports fest and can enof cultural fests late night. ( only students living far than 45 km gets a hostel here ). Sports facility is good here, you can get the equipments(like volley ball, cricket bat, table tennis racket) issued on your id card and can play. Gym is also there. Campus is very beautiful, students love to sit near OAT( open air theatre ), greenry is there and you can find many pea- cocks in the campus. You can visit library also from 9 AM to 10 pm, having thousands of books, it's fully air conditioned and very crucial during exams. Also there are various other events like talks with speakers from various organizations, who share there experiences and guide students for the future.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would say the course curriculum at DTU is quite relevant and comprehensive. The reason I chose this course was the mix of strong fundamentals in the first year—like Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Programming—followed by department-specific core and elective courses that allow some flexibility and specialization. The curriculum gives a solid foundation for both real-world applications and further studies, especially through hands-on projects and lab work. That said, some areas could be improved, like including more industry exposure, internships, and practical case studies to bridge theory and real-world problems. Exams happen twice a semester (mid-terms and end-terms) and include assignments and projects as part of evaluation. While most exams are manageable if you keep up with the coursework, a few subjects can be challenging, and preparation is key to avoid surprises.

Placement Experience:

The annual placements at NIT Delhi are consistently getting better year by year where the top branches such as CSE, ECE, and IT are leading the way with their strong placement rates. Many students get hired at very attractive salaries by well-established companies like TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Microsoft, and Amazon. For example, the CTC of the best offers have reached as high as ?15–20 LPA in some instances. The Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical branches also contribute to the university’s overall placement record to some extent. Those students usually boost the available opportunities for themselves by taking up internships and off-campus offers. Moreover, the students who fail to get a job on the campus can still benefit out of the college atmosphere where the strong basics of coding, projects, and practical skills are taught which makes the students quite employable at startups, off-campus, or even when going for higher studies like M.Tech/GATE/abroad. To sum up, NIT Delhi is a very solid foundation for the students whether they want to have a career or continue with their education.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is relevant and comprehensive, with practical modules and industry-focused content that influenced my choice. It effectively bridges academic knowledge with real-world applications. However, adding more case studies and interdisciplinary approaches could enhance learning. Exams are well-timed but could better assess critical thinking. Teaching methods would benefit from integrating more interactive and hands-on sessions.
