Course Curriculum Overview
I would like to rate course curriculum in COEP 9/10 as it has a very much structured course work right from the 1st semester. COEP also offers various non-technical elective subjects such as finance, geography, music etc. Overall COEP has good amount of subjects and project work for overall development.
Internships Opportunities
Companies visit COEP to offer internships to 3rd year students. Most companies are software product based, so the stipend they offer is pretty high such as 40k-1.5lakhs per month. Duration of internship is usually 2 months after 3rd year.
Placement Experience
COEP has the best placement in Maharashtra for all branches. Best placement in terms of salary offered is in Computer Science dept. with hightest salary offered was 50 lakhs per annum to 6 students. A lot of different companies in various fields visit COEP
Fees and Financial Aid
As COEP is a Maharashtra Government college, fees is pretty less. My BTech costed me aroud 3.2Lakhs(total 4 year fees). And hostel and mess fees would cost another 40,000 per year. Also scholarships are also available caste-wise.
Campus Life
COEP has a very vibrant culture. It has numerous amount of clubs like boat club maths club, dance club, drama club, robotics club, satellite club and many more. COEP also has 4 flagship events planned around the year like Technical fest, Cultural fest, Sports fest, Annual fest of Boat club etc. And an internal students gathering for students.
Admission
Admissions in COEP Technological University are done through MHT-CET exam. This is a PCM exam of 200 marks. No negative marking. P-50, C-50, M-100 marks. Exam usually happens in April end or May start. Exam is similar to Jee mains, but questions are very much scoring, so all most students get 120+ marks. For Admission in COEP CS, you need a rank in top 100, which is usually 175+ marks. I got 160/200 marks in MHT-CET 2018. Rank around 1100 (Gen). I got admission in COEP in last round in Instrumentation. Later in spot round I got Electrical. My friend with same 160 marks, rank around 1150, got admission in 1st round only in COEP CS. Catgegory was SC.
